    247 Recruit Rankings Update: 1.30.20

For the 2020 class all three of our recruits received upgrades:

Jalen Suggs up to #8 from #10 (#3 CG and 5 star)

Julian Strawther up to #57 from #64 (#14 SF and 4 star)

Dominick Harris up to #59 from #62 (#9 CG and 4 star) *still too low IMO*

    2021 Prospects:

    Chet Holmgren up to #2 from #4 (#1 C and 5 star)

Paolo Banchero down to #4 from #3 (#1 PF and 5 star)

    Nathan Bittle up to #12 from #14 (#2 C and 5 star)

Hunter Sallis unchanged at #42 (#4 CG and 4 star)

Kaden Perry unchanged at #109 (#14 C and 4 star)

For the 2021 class we've already had visits from the both the #1 and #2 Center's in the country AND the #1 PF, let that sink in...

Thanks for this info and yes it is great that we have had those 5*'s visit BUT I wonder what the odds are in getting any of those three to commit/sign an LOI...

Odds are better for a commitment with a visit than without a visit.

        100-1 vs 99-1?

Perry is top 100 on Rivals and 247, but no grade yet on ESPN is keeping him out of top 100 composite.

“Our” 5 stars sign their LOI in invisible ink.

The definition of commitment ain't what it used to be.

don't think 247 actually updated THEIR rankings...rivals and espn made recent updates so the 247 composite scores are starting to reflect these changes. 247 hasn't adjusted to rivals 2021 update yet...just 2020 it looks like.

the rivals update this week bumped strawther nicely up from 65 to 53 and harris slightly from 67 to 64...suggs went from 11 to 9.

in the rivals 2021 update yesterday, both peyton watson and hunter sallis made big leaps to became 5 stars coming in at #19 and 20 respectively...competition is going to heat up even more.

more importantly, kaden perry jumped 40 spots into the top 100 to sit at number #94...he was so far off the radar that i think he's the only guy in the top 100 who still doesn't have a headshot, hahaha...

edited to add: ben gregg dropped 10 slots from #60 to #70...bittle moved up 4 from #15 to #11.

Sorry for not specifically clarifying these are the "247 Composite" rankings (even though that's the default ranking on their site) as opposed to the "Top247" rankings

wasn't criticizing or anything...just clarifying as many on this board feel that 247 is the most accurate and these changes don't actually reflect what they think...there can be some pretty wide gaps between the different rating sites.

so here's a quick recap of 2020 zag recruits from each of the 3 main scouting services (note: 247 hasn't had a recent update)

                              suggs: espn #5 / rivals #9 / 247 #12

                              strawther: rivals #53 / espn #59 / 247 #67

                              harris: espn #54 / rivals #64 / 247 #65

considering the relative consistency between the 3 sites, it appears that there is a general consensus with regard to the range these guys should fall (despite where the fans on this board feel they should be ranked).
