10 college basketball players primed for breakout seasons in 2020-21

    #1
"With Filip Petrsev and Killian Tillie no longer with the Zags, the middle of the floor will open up for Drew Timme. The 6'10" forward averaged 9.8 points and 5.4 boards per game, and as March Chadness pointed out on this week's pod, if you averaged his minutes out to 40 minutes per game last season, Timme would have put up 19.0 points and 11.0 rebounds per game. If Timme continues to be efficient with his minutes, then he could be the next star big man for Mark Few and the Bulldogs."

These are 10 men's college basketball players who can make the leap and become stars in the 2020-21 season, ranked by NCAA.com's Andy Katz.

While I don't disagree with the main point of the story, no big on a Mark Few team averages 40 minutes.

Having said that, I can see Timme approaching the scoring and rebounding numbers with close to 30 minutes a game because he will be a major part of the offense when he is on the floor.

Just for fun, Timme averaged 2.76 fouls per game last year in just over 20 minutes. If we extrapolate that out he would never reach 40 minutes because he would foul out every game.

especially with Ballo and Zacharov with none and little playing time last season, they will be learning the ropes. Timme will have a role similar to what Kory had last year for the new guys. He will be the 5 helping break in the other big men under the bucket.

Katz back in the fold. The Bonus maxed out at 32 mpg and KO at 26, Tims will be lucky to get 28.

Drew Timme will lead the WCC in assists and rebounds. How's that for bold?

Yeah, sorry...but that really makes it bold!

As I told jazz, I need a road trip, distancing in place for seven months has taken a toll on my sanity. Perhaps next week, I'll take a drive down to Fredericksburg, visit a few wineries. Or perhaps a day trip to Muenster, way up in North Texas, where they have a restaurant specializing in German delicacies.

Every item on the menu looks scrumptious. Reasonable prices, too.

Great place on main drag, 101. I’m sure Abe’s dropped anchor there a couple times. Minutes from the Pacific.

                              Story of my life.

Jazz meets me in a Strip Mall ... saves the Main Event for the cool guys.

Yep ... well at least he showed up and didn’t leave me hanging “Han” Solo in the parking lot.
