I have a condo in Henderson and would go to Vegas at least once a quarter. Lots of cheap, direct flights. Poker rooms, table games, golf, shopping, restaurants. Just a couple of nights and you were refreshed. People were there to have a good time and people were united in that revelation. Yeah there's a rough side but that was part of it. You saw the glitz and the grit because that's what life is. I loved Vegas.

Then the conformists showed up and like vampires, sucked the fun out of everything. It's like a new class of puritan has taken over and it's not Vegas anymore.

I've seen the Zags in Vegas several times and if the experience was the same as in the past, I'd be there in a second but it's just not worth it anymore. It's not just the expense or the travel times or the masks or the lack of interaction or everything being closed; it's all of that together. Most of all its the derision people have towards each other.

    I'll watch from home.

Totally agree. You echo my sentiments. I won't be going down this year.

It would be fun but I'm not going anywhere that doesn't require vaccinations or testing. I wish we didn't have to go there but there are too many selfish people these days.

    To each their own...

I never loved Vegas, once every few years, at most, was more than enough for me. But Vegas this year represented the chance to see the Zags in person for two games, three after we decided to subsequently stay through the Duke game. And two of the games are marquee games. The great thing about individual choice is that those who prefer to watch from home can do so and be happy doing so, and I have found that those who do attend away games are very excited and happy to be there. There is something fun and special about running into Zag fans in a hotel, restaurant or out and about in the city where the game is being held. There is an infectious excitement and camaraderie that adds to the experience.

As for cost, Vegas hotels may be pricier these days compared to long-time Vegas standards, but they are cheaper than their counterparts nationally. There are still deals to be had to help off-set those $14 beers at the venue. The Park MGM (formerly the Monte Carlo), which appears to be the closest hotel to the T-Mobile Arena had basic rooms for $54/night Monday through Weds. as of a week ago. Now deciding to stay through the Duke game increased our travel cost since it has us flying home with the rest of the Thanksgiving travelers, but for us, it was worth it to see Gonzaga (hopefully) beat Duke in person.

As for tickets for the Duke game, I believe prices will come down. It appears to me that scalpers bought up a large number of seats and they will not want to be left holding unsold tickets to the game. I was able to buy two at close to face value a week ago on the main ticket website (AXS Tickets), upper level, but at center court. So if you are interested in going, keep an eye on resale tickets.

Whether you watch from home, or attend in person, enjoy the games. It will be a great week of Gonzaga basketball. Go Zags!

I would think the non vaccinated world is getting pretty small......

I always enjoyed Las Vegas going back to the mob and the " Green Felt Jungle ".... the Tournament of Champions (Golf)....and Frank and Elvis and Evil jumping the fountains.....and of course the gambling and pole dancing.....the food ...the not so free drinks....the Shelby Shop....the Imperial Car Collection.....the hiking and riding in the desert ....

And of course , all day at the WCC.....seeing a game in person is spectacular......all of it.... from the warm ups to the celebrations ..... great fun..... but I will be watching from the comfort and safety of home....

Attending the UCLA yet were priced out of the Duke game. Even the cheap seats are over $350/piece now.

Have tickets to the Zags pre-game party before Duke game though. Will celebrate with fellow Zag fans/alums, then watch the game from a sportsbook somewhere.

Looking forward to seeing them live again.

Yes, at least you can get a free cup of water since you blew all your beer money on club access! LOL

    WHAT??

Is that face value or is that what scalpers want? I would think the latter.

I hate playing the scalping game. One knows one should hold out until 20 minutes before tip-off, when one can actually save money if they miscalculated. And yet every time I've done it, I've bought them early, and though I've never felt abused, I could've saved some money with some patience. It is just so hard standing outside without a ticket, knowing you want to be inside.I suppose with all the big sports books in Vegas, the consolation prize of going and watching it on a movie theatre sized screen with people cheering isn't that bad an alternative.

It is worth waiting until tip if you are already there. Ticket prices usually drop substantially once the game starts.

Believe the game is sold out, so all tickets currently for sale are re-sale tickets.

The T-Mobile Arena site, which uses AXS Tickets as their sales mechanism has standing room tickets for $120, and upper level seats in the $175-200 range. Not cheap for sure, but a lot of tickets in the $300-400 range which will likely be dropping the closer it gets to game time. Stubhub has a pair of upper level tickets for $100/ticket and a lot of tickets in the low $200's. Still believe prices will be dropping quite a bit.

I have bought my tickets to UCLA game. Wife is not happy and says I'm in big trouble if I have any issues getting home since it is so close to Thanksgiving. But how often do you have an opportunity to see number 1 team play number 2 team?

    I really hope I don't ruin thanksgiving.

Times like these require thinking outside the box. Bringing a gift home to wife before leaving for Vegas is definitely a better move than the more traditional bringing a gift home upon your return….need to bookend this trip w gifts. Enjoy!!

Maybe send her a gift at halftime, as well. Just enjoy.

You are aware of the fact that there is no guarantee we beat Texas, right?

I mean, yes, I suspect we'll beat them by double digits, but, it's - you know.

UCLA looking very good with core retuning and adding some rim protection and a lottery pick wing in Peyton Watson.....

I admire your optimism. I think we lose to them, but win any other game against ranked opponent. Go Zags!

I'm going to predict: (at T Mobile)
Central Cupcake & Bellarmine fans combined = 5%
    UCLA fans = 15%
    Zags fans = 80%
WE ZIGGED, WE ZAGGED, AND WE STILL ENDED UP AT THE KENNEL !

I just hope more tickets will sell. The arena is still looking like it's only going to be half full, if that.

I will tell you from personal experience, the buying process with these "sessions" was quite confusing. And the listed game times doesn't make any sense.

Initially, I purchased two tickets to the Central Michigan game assuming it was the UCLA game. I had to resell these tickets for cheap, then return to purchase the correct session AND game times.

Even after you purchase the tickets, the email they send does NOT state "Gonzaga vs UCLA", rather Session I or II. Until you log-in to the App and view your actual electronic tickets, do you realize its for UCLA and not the other game.

I think they finally updated to include the Monday vs Tuesday designation, yet it wasn't clear from the get-go.
