Default Gonzaga extends offer to Burley, Idaho's Amari Whiting

'The Idaho 4A State Player of the Year broke several state tournament records her sophomore year, helping the Bobcats take third place. She averaged over 27 points per game during the tournament. Over the course of the regular season, Whiting produced 25.4 points, 8.9 rebounds, 3.8 steals and 2.7 assists per game. Whiting Tweeted Wednesday night that the reigning West Coast Conference champion Gonzaga University offered her."

Amari is starting her junior year in h.s. She was offered by Arizona the day after we did. "She hopes to narrow down her top five schools by September 1."

Who are the others on her lists of schools? Besides, Arizona and Oregon?

Thanks Northwest, too bad for CLF and her staff but that is a pretty high powered group Amari had to choose from.

This year is even more quiet than normal on the recruiting front. No known verbal commits as of yet for next year and the early signing period for basketball is from November 10 - November 17.

Are we going to see any commits during the early signing period or is it going to be just crickets?

So was it the 10 different uniforms or the football players showing her around “O” that made AW choose Oregon.

As for GU WBB…. We have four players leaving… possibly….

Last year was tough for a lot of high school programs with many playing in late spring. That could have something to do with the crickets.

I also look at who is available with what the team’s needs are…

    Go Zags!!
