2023 five-star SF Marquis “Mookie” Cook tells me that he has heard from Kentucky, Memphis, USC, UCLA, Arizona, Oregon, and Gonzaga since the contact period began last night (

    ).

Thank you for posting all these updates Zagdawg. Surprisingly, this SF Mookie Cook is the only 2023 recruit listed here showing both Zags and AZ as in contact w him. Zags and ‘Zona competing on the recruiting trail will become a bigger story down the road methinks.

Am I the only one noticing the sheer number of “5*” recruits Zags are in on? Few leading the program through yet another growth spurt. Hope he figures out a way to keep the same team culture and connection w fans and not swing too far toward the Kentucky/Duke end of recruiting where every year has huge roster turnover of 5* guys.
He can move 15 ft to the left or right about as fast as my eyes can see it, his name could just as well be Hunter Hustle -ZagsGoZags 11/17/21

Says that Kentucky and Gonzaga showed “big interest” in him. Could be something to keep an eye on in the coming future.

Not every 5 star player is a one and done player, or even a NBA player. Kansas and UNC, for instance, have had numerous 5 star players who turned out to be 3 to 4 year guys. It's going to take several national titles and a lot of years for Gonzaga to be a one and done machine like Kentucky or Duke (if they want to do that sort of thing). I just don't see Few or his successor as being guys who want that roster turnover anyway. It also goes without saying that some of these 5 star guys will end up being 4 star guys.

We should be good ----not getting anything off his site-- only public information that has been posted on Twitter/Instagram by various sports-related folks.

La Lumiere (IN.) 2023 PG Jeremy Fears Jr. is the closest thing we will ever see to Chris Paul in the next 10-15 years. He will definitely play in the NBA. There is no question about that.

While the 2022 class is in key stages, here's a 2023 we have mentioned quite a bit on Gonzaga's radar. He recently had Stephen Gentry in town to watch him
