Just saw a USA Today report that indicates Suggs was at the Holmgren announcement:
Holmgren said that Suggs helped him make his decision. Based on Suggs’ Instagram story, it seemed like he was present for the announcement and pleased with the decision.
"Like him or not - just amazing what Mark Few has built. Spokane over Chapel Hill, Durham, Lexington, East Lansing etc. Remarkable."
"like him or not"? Mitch has always been in the "..or not" camp for some reason. I assume it's just sour grapes from a sad Husky homer.
ZZ
Mitch is no Husky homer. He is a Syracuse grad and fan. Never one to jump on the Husky bandwagon once he moved out here.
I never understood what his gripe was with Mark Few, but whatever.
I read his tweet as nothing but respect--and I imagine his "like him or not" is directed at the Huskies in his following who have come nowhere close to where Gonzaga is, ever, and are puzzled and forlorn at UW's recent slide into irrelevance and turmoil at the same time Gonzaga is going to the Final Four every few years, to the Sweet 16 at least every year, and to the tournament for more years consecutively than any college players today have been alive.
