has reconsidered his commitment to Arizona after Sean Miller’s departure, and has committed to Washington State, per source.

Not sure if this deserves its own thread or not, but Orlando Antigua could be heading back to Kentucky, leaving Illinois with an open assistant spot. Ron Coleman could leave as well for Kentucky, but I'm not sure on that one. Roger Powell's alma mater is Illinois and Illini fans are currently throwing his name out there. Something to keep an eye on maybe?

This sure isn't a knock on Tommy - at all - but it would seem to be a no-brainer to hire a former head coach as but one (not even top) assistant. There are always little pot holes that a former guy can help one avoid.

I find it rather charming that the AZ fanbase is somewhat disappointed. If Few retired and GU somehow considered anyone else (I know it's in the Contract so non-issue), if somehow GU considered a big name over "no HC experience Lloyd" we would go into a rage. This school has been a little better than AZ lately and considered Tommy it's auto-coach if Few bought a guide service in Alaska and retired.

A poster on a Arizona message board compiled a big list of Hall of Fame or soon to be Hall of Fame assistants who became hall of famers w/ their very first head coaching jobs, and the list was large. One name that came to mind was Roy Williams who was an assistant under Dean Smith before he landed the Kansas gig. Also, Tommy is not just "another" assistant. I'd place a big bet that coaches across the nation would name Lloyd as one of five best assistants in the nation. Any associate head coach who has been to 2 final fours in 4 years as the lead recruiter on the staff has major credentials. Way more than the guys Richard Jefferson thinks. Tommy has already announced that Jason Terry has been retained on the Zona staff, who was the most important Cat alum to remain on the staff. He is very good assistant and extremely devoted to Zona.

Arizona coach Tommy Lloyd is hiring Ricky Fois as an assistant coach, sources told @Stadium. Fois is from Italy, worked on Mark Few’s staff for 5 years & was with Phoenix Suns last two years in a player development role. Fois knows Lloyd’s system and can recruit internationally.
