I don’t think top 5 has anything to do with it. He has other intangibles that don’t fit into recruit rankings I believe.

Does this catapult Suggs to the #1 pick?

Very true. Some people win games, some people are winners. Jalen is the latter

Depends on the team with the first pick. This certainly doesn’t hurt his prospects, especially after looking like the better player in the USC game. Cunningham is likely to go first still.

As Rafftery said after the block/bounce pass sequence..............."He's a gamer". The kid just refuses to lose, and the entire team has been infected. Inspiring to watch. He got drilled in the stomach (or a little lower) in the OT, stayed on the deck for a few seconds as they "played on", got up and went back after it. Remarkable!!

Superior athlete. Superior kid. Wherever he is, he'll need improvement in LD shooting and ball handling. I suspect he's too quick for his own good. Love the kid. Tough as shoe leather ( the old kind)

Minnesota has the first pick, it’s a no brainer IMO. He’s going to be a star in the NBA, and sell a lot of tickets.

They only have a small % chance to be first pick. 1 in 6 as I remember.

Suggs has received some criticism on this site for mistakes, playing too fast, and other comments indicating his lack of experience. I think it is important that until this year, his first love was football, and that undoubtedly occupied a larger share of his time than basketball. Imagine how good he will be now that he is devoting the majority of his time to bbl. The other freshmen being compared with him are one-sport athletes. Suggs future is truly in front of him and I can't wait to see more.

I thought at the time that he was channeling his inner Gary Bell Jr.

I think Suggs has the "it" factor like very few do: Tom Brady, LeBron James and Michael Jordan. Cade Cunningham is 3" taller and he's a baller, no doubt, but Jalen Suggs oozes similar talent with a smidge of nitroglycerin.

Fortunately, the whole world got to see it, including every NBA GM. Gonna be a lot of pressure on whomever is taking that 1st pick.

I think there is now a "destiny" factor there that wasn't before.

It is infected all of them but Suggs makes it "go."

Absolutely and a reminder for all of us to take a moment and really appreciate what we've all seen and experienced. I believe we're witnessing a generational talent and the embryonic stages of the legend that will surely follow, irregardless of tomorrow's outcome.

I’ve probably watched him skip that pass to Timme as many times as I’ve watched the shot now that was just incredible

Minnesota owes their pick to Golden State this year. Not sure if there are protections or not. Regardless, the top pick hasn’t been determined as of yet.

    Good one!

Jalen was a huge factor in our win against UCLA no question, but I can't ignore the huge contributions of Joel, Timme and Corey and add Nembhard. Timme's so solid and reliable, Kispert was timely and Joel, holy cow he had a huge game. This win took a team but Jalen made the shot of the year no question plus steals and hustle beyond.
One of the greatest stories in basketball history...Gonzaga!
