14 teams in league, and in the tourny, and bids. just kidding. I think.
While it isn't a rule, I like the must be .500 in conference to get a bid. But it's also a pretty intuitive cut off point.
#8 Rutgers 9-10
#9 Michigan State 8-10
#10 Indiana 7-11
I figure that they each have another pair of games before their tourny - need to win. That would only get Indy to 9-11. As a 7 through 10 seed, they would get an opening round game in the same grouping 7-10, 8-9. Those winners get the #1 and #2 seeds next. A win against either of those teams and you are in, in either case. So I'm saying seeds 8-9 can get in with two more regular season wins and an opening round victory in their tourny ( against each other, literally a play-in game ). Indiana needs four wins.
the bracket I found only has slots for 11 teams ... did Cal opt out of the conf tourney?
is 4-5 bids realistic ?
Arizona gave itself a post season banning this year. Bad Arizona.

Thanks, kitz. I should have known that. I'm still a little surprised they aren't participating in their tourny. Probably for the best, especially with the allegations pending.
Bellarmine loses to Stetson. Lipscomb falls to Fla Gulf Coast . Liberty and No. Alabama also advance
Well, this is interesting. Liberty beat Stetson in one semi, No. Alabama defeated Fla. Gulf Coast in the other. No. Alabama is another of those schools transitioning to Div I and are ineligible for the tournament, so ... Liberty beats the crowd and is our first ticket punched, before the final is even played.
another Nordlander tweet reported that LMU's mulleted-one, Leaupepe, was in a walking boot prior to LMU's victory over the Dons. The Lions played seven guys. LMU plays SMC Saturday, winner gets Zags on Monday.
on the other side of the bracket, the Broncos beat Pacific and will next play the Waves with the victor advancing to joust with BYU.

Reason: spelling
15 teams in the ACC ... 5 games scheduled tomorrow - 6th ( one of which has already been canceled ) . First round of their tournament is the 9th. I never like that set up.
Sometimes ... a lot of times, I am thankful of the schedule that we keep. Sure, there are ten or so days between the Vegas championship and the first round games but I'd rather have the extra days than the quick turnaround and potentially playing ( a max of ) five games in five days. For those playing the first round, that is their penalty for their poor conference record. But somebody isn't playing Saturday and is getting that extra rest.
