Yeah. They released two albums, but this song was by far their best work.

I remember hearing the name Rilo Kiley, but I was way late to the party checking them out. I think they'd already broken up by the time I started listening. Their lead singer Jenny Lewis did solo projects off and on and has continued solo since the band went away. I saw her live once, great show. For the most part her solo stuff sounds similar to the band. Anyway I've liked just about every one of their songs I've heard.

Weezer, Pearl Jam, Foo Fighters, Green Day, Chili Peppers, and Radiohead are a bunch of ‘90s bands that never really went away.

I already got something by Metric, but this is a fun song. They recorded this previously, but it was used in the movie "Scott Pilgrim vs. The World." In this version it's still the band but the vocals are replaced by a virtually unrecognizable Brie Larson, or Envy Adams as her movie character was known. This isn't even an official video, it's a fan made thing, but very well done. And it's one of those movies, didn't do well but has a bit of a cult following, and you would not believe the cast list. Anna Kendrick and Aubrey Plaza were in just kinda throwaway roles. Includes Michael Cera, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Kieran Culkin, Jason Schwartzman, Allison Pill, Chris Evans, Brandon Routh, Mae Whitman, Thomas Jane among others (practically a super hero all star team--Superman, Captain America, Captain Marvel, the Punisher, the Huntress).

I use Pandora. It's kinda hit and miss, some days it seems to generate better play lists than others, but I've found SOOOOO many artists thru that I never would've heard of otherwise.

Rare all female rock band. Not very well known, I don't get it, I think they've really got something going.

I'm gonna dump several more by them because it was hard to choose just one.

This might be pushing it. Definitely electronica elements, and looped drum beats rather than an actual drummer, but there is some guitar. Only discovered them recently, they just have a mesmerizing sound to me. And on a side note KEXP here in Seattle has a nice series of in studio mini concerts posted on line, various indie bands. What the heck, I'm just gonna post the whole set. It's only 4 songs plus a short interview in the middle.

This is probably a one off for me. Listened to a few of their other songs, didn't really grab me, but I really like this one.

Very recently discovered this one. Not everybody can pull off blue hair, but it's definitely working for her.

The music company executives at the end of this video restate DZ’s thesis.

Literally just stumbled onto this, but damn it sounds good to me. Started in 2012, several albums, still active. Singer has a raw and powerful voice, I'm getting some shades of Janis Joplin in there.

I wasn’t much of a Kid Rock fan until he performed a few USO shows for the troops while I was in Iraq. It really helped morale for a few of my unit’s troops. I often wondered if his show pulled one of my soldiers off of the suicide ledge after the kid’s best friend died and his wife dumped him.

I still don’t care for much of his music, but I am grateful to him for doing those shows.

I saw him while deployed, too. He stopped in Kuwait on his way north. He was completely surprised and a little annoyed to find there was a huge camp in Kuwait with a few thousand troops there. He insisted on setting up an impromptu concert that night. Then just went down into the crowd of troops and hung out with us for a while. I was impressed.
