    Default The BZ Bulldog of the Game - @ SMC - 1. 16. 21

    STATS LINK: https://smcgaels.com/sidearmstats/mbball/media

Another slow start for the Zags; they trailed by 10 in the first half, turned it around and after the first 20 minutes had a 32 - 25 lead, as Timme, Cook, and Ayayi shouldered the scoring load while Kispert and Suggs were struggling.

Another Zags - Gaels battle is in the books, with the Bulldogs besting the Gaels by a final score of 73 - 59.

Kispert got it together to lead a team effort. Glad this is in the rear view mirror.

Gotta go with Joel. Consistent, steady, and productive - as he has been this and last year. He smoothes out the rough spots, especially tonight.

Ayayi literally had 1 turnover and kispert had zero. Thats how close it was.

Ayayi. What an outstanding player. Nice game by Timme as well.

Suggs stats were good across the line. Voted for him but Joel was a dead heat.

I think Watson needs to have his blood iron levels checked-the lethargy is strong in this one.

I think I saw his mugshot on a milk carton after the game.

Probably could have put a few others on there as well, though.

    Ayayi keeps rolling

Interesting that the NBA guy along with Farnham passed right over Timme.

I’d rather see Straw or even Gregg get his minutes at the 4.

He’s not ready and neither is Joel, was their implication

I voted for Kispert. I felt his second half shooting was the key. He hit two very big 3 point shots that kept St. Mary's at bay. Ayayi did play well, but I don't think his scoring was as significant as Kispert's. Also I felt Ayayi played very poor defense, as he kept trying to reach behind the guy he was defending and slap at the ball from behind him. This is what is called BAD man to man D.

Agreed. It would be nice to see Few give either significantly more minutes to see what they can do with more playing time-couldn't be much worse.

I have to agree. Timme needs to develop a little bit of a stretch game to be a factor in the league. Ayayi needs to be more aggressive hunting for his shots in the half court set along with a step back move to create in a short clock.

Very close between Timme, Kispert and Ayayi but I went for Timme 5 of 6 FG, (83%) 4 of 5 FT(80%), 8 RB, 3 BL, and only 1 TO, hard to beat stats like that!

I think each brings unique value over Watson. Straw is a scorer and Gregg is a banger with a sweet stroke.

Would love for the NBA guys to encourage Ayayi staying one more season. He’s been playing extraordinarily lately, and I have no idea why teams wouldn’t want him. He’s been making so many right plays and doing the little things. Disappointed that the refs missed a couple over the back fouls on St. Mary’s in the first half; and, of course, it was Ayayi who had position.

Next years core of Joel, Tims and Nemby would work for me.

Joel is going to be gone. He's the best NBA prospect on the team. You can see how Kentucky struggles with 4-5 kids like Suggs. Top flashy athletic highschool kids who haven't adjusted to the college level.

Love Joel and you could make a strong argument that he’s the Zags mvp this season. But he’s not the best NBA prospect on the team. He’s clearly rated behind Suggs and Kispert by almost all nba mock drafts and talent evaluators.

The Matrix was really good as usual, have to go with Kispert.
Could two facial expressions be more contrasting than Watty & Suggs?

I went with Cook because we were getting no where in the first half until Aaron was put in and he had several key plays that turned it around and it stayed turned around. We are lucky to have him!

Ayayi isn’t a primary ball handler nor is he a knockdown shooter. He’s got great hustle and instincts, but he doesn’t have any flashy skills they look for in high NBA prospects. I think he’ll go into the draft a lot like Brandon Clarke, and he’ll certainly have a good NBA career.

Suggs has insane potential as he focuses solely on basketball. He needs to become a good outside shooter, but he’s such an incredible athlete and he has the mindset to continue improving. He’s a bit turnover prone, but he’ll learn when to pick his spots better in time.
