Default BZ Bulldog of the Game: GU @ UP - 01. 09. 21

    http://stats.statbroadcast.com/broadcast/?id=319400

Joel Ayayi with the first triple double in program history as he and his teammates had their way with a game Pilots team that was playing "catch up" most of the evening

Coach Few had a chance to give the bench / role players some run tonight, as seen in the Box Score linked above.

Watson had a career high. Cook appears to be on the mend. Strawther with a career high in scoring.

    Final Score: 116 - 88

P.S. The thought did cross my mind last night to list Ayayi 9 times and "Other" once (polls can have up to 10 choices) . But that would be wrong. . .

Joel Ayayi. He nearly had the triple double by halftime.

Joel!!! I can not imagine anything more satisfying than Joel getting Gonzaga’s first triple double.

Any other night it would be Watson or Timme, but when a guy gets the first triple double in GU history there is only one choice - Joel Ayayi

Amazing with all of Gonzaga’s great players that Ayayi is the first with a triple double. I would have thought Blake Stepp would have had several. Ayayi a special player and I thoroughly enjoy watching him play.

If Joel doesn't get every single vote, I will be surprised.

Gregg had a career high as well. He got his first basket as a Zag. Welcome to Gonzaga!

Only one choice tonight! Incredible game Joel! Feel like Timme and Strawther deserve an honorable mention.

Second most assists in school history to go with his Triple Double. Timme, Watson, and Strawther all deserve honorable mentions. Strawther looked like he belonged for the first time all year! Great games all around, but Joel was masterful!

    CONGRATULATIONS TO JOEL!!!
It is hard to believe Joel is the first Zag to get a triple double...

The whole team played well...Watson with a career high

29 assists and 7 players in double figures...

Watson's excellent game was eclipsed by Ayayi's brilliant triple-double. Hats off to Mr. Watson but vote goes to Joel, of course.

Easy call, Ayayi. Definitely glad to see Watson have a good game. If he keeps it up and Timme starts making people pay from 3, well.....everyone's nightmare to play may just make history.

When a team wins huge while shooting 63% FGs and has SEVEN players score double figures, how do you single out one player?

Timme? Led scoring on 10-14 shooting and 7 boards? Or . . .

    Watson? Defensive specialist with CAREER-high 23 points? Or . . .

The only player in Zag history with a triple—double: 12 points, 13 boards, 14 (yes FOURTEEN) assists?

Yep, AYAYI!!! Team vote would be unanimous. So should this board.

Congrats, Joel, on an unbelievable game. Thanks! It was super to watch!
