Game ReCap from The Slipper Still Fits:

Gonzaga Overcomes 18-Point Deficit to Win First Game
    What a comeback
    By Steven Karr
    Nov 30, 2020, 2:44pm PST

The Gonzaga women overcame an 18-point first half deficit to beat South Dakota, 54-50, to earn their first win of the season. Jill Townsend and Jenn Wirth were named to the All-Tournament team for the event.

Coming off a heartbreaking loss to top-ranked South Carolina 24 hours prior, Gonzaga came out incredibly sluggish in the first half. They trailed 27-9 midway through the second quarter before slowly crawling their way back.

Whatever was said in the locker room at halftime seemed to work. The Zags cut the lead to seven entering the fourth and then caught fire. Townsend and Kayleigh Truong went on a 9-0 run to give the Bulldogs a 40-38 lead, a lead they would not relinquish. After growing the lead to seven, the Coyotes cut it to one with under two minutes remaining. But Townsend went 6-for-6 from the foul line down the stretch to ice the game.

Townsend finished with 20 points and four rebounds for the Zags. Truong, after struggling yesterday, played a huge part in the second half, finishing with 12 points and six rebounds. The 18th-ranked Bulldogs improve to 1-1 and take on South Dakota State on Saturday.

Before today's game, the AP poll had our Lady Zags ranked at 18th, South Dakota still ranked 28th and our next opponent, South Dakota State ranked at 26th.

Good win today and a good opportunity to add to the resume on 12/6.

    Moving upward lady zags.

    Great Job,

“W”s are “W”s... being ahead at the end. Lots of ways to get there. Great second half. 23 points in the 4th. Jill put the team on her back... she’s a gamer.

A week to work on things and get ready for another road trip... get use to to it.

    Great comeback GU WBB!!

    Go Zags!

Another game summary from the Argus Leader:

Crossover Classic: South Dakota women fall short against No. 18 Gonzaga
    Brian Haenchen
    Sioux Falls Argus Leader

Considering the influx of young players and the caliber of their first two opponents, it was understood that there would be some growing pains for the South Dakota women to start the 2020 campaign. That being said, Monday's 54-50 loss to No. 18 Gonzaga in the final game of the Bad Boy Mowers Crossover Classic still felt like a missed opportunity. USD led by as many as 18 in the first half, then had its fourth-quarter rally ultimately undone by a rash of self-inflicted wounds (untimely turnovers and missed free throws).

"It's a learning opportunity for us because we don't have a lot of kids who've been in those situations," coach Dawn Plitzuweit said. "We have to learn how to play really hard, really fast and smart (in transition), then in a halfcourt when it's a grind-it-out game, we have to learn how to make adjustments as teams are playing us differently."

Did I miss the news about Kylee Griffen & Louise Forsyth? They weren't in the box score. Still on roster?

Forsyth played briefly in the South Carolina game. Griffin has not played yet this season. Don't know if its coaches decision, injury or something else. Here is a link to the current individual stats for the team: https://gozags.com/sports/womens-basketball/stats

I did not see KG on the bench during the video broadcast or in any of the pictures posted of either game. She was one to the two players that sat out FanFest due to Covid-19 protocols.

Section 116 is right, LF played 1 minute in the South Carolina game, scored no points and gathered 2 personal fouls. She did not play in the South Dakota game.

Eliza Hollingsworth was on the bench in street clothes. In one picture I saw EH was wearing a wrist brace. Abby O'Conner, was on the bench in street clothes, but she is not eligible to play this year.

Thanks for the updates. Disappointing. Thought Kylee would be a part of the mix this year. Covid? Who knows? If Louise not playing gotta think it's due to a talent upgrade via transfers & newcomers.
