Not gonna highlight everything that happens, but I can't help but notice what Fr. Caitlin Clark is doing at Iowa. Debuted w/ 27 points and 8 rebounds, followed that up w/ a 30 point (12-19 shooting) and 13 assist effort. Both games were against solid mid majors--Northern Iowa and Drake. Bueckers from UConn has gotten a ton of hype, but Clark is just lighting it up right from the get go.
Coach Vanderveer just tied Coach Summitt for career wins. Pacific has a chance to be a part of history on Tuesday when they host Stanford and Tara goes for the record.
Quote by Tara Vanderveer and the chance to pass Pat Summitt for career wins:
Always has been a class act.“I just would like to say to everybody, basketball was invented as, always has been and always will be a great team sport. Yes, this might be a record that has Tara VanDerveer's name next to it but it is about the athletic directors that hired me, gave me a chance, whether it's been at Ohio State, Idaho or Stanford. It's been about great, great, great assistant coaches that have worked extremely hard for our program and it's about having great players. My dad, who passed away over 20 years now, said ‘You don’t win the Kentucky Derby on donkeys.'"

Never mind. Stanford hit the gas in Q3. Scored 36 in the quarter, now up 30+.
BYU and Pacific have both beaten LSU this year, today it's LMU's turn.
We're up 28-16 at the half. Chelsey has had a few pretty decent minutes. LSU is struggling inside against Mandel's defense!
We held them to 30%.
*UPDATE
Ahead by one 41-40 going into the 4th. Hope we can hang on...
* FINAL ugghhh lost by 2. 54-52.

LMU goes down 54-52 on lay-up by LSU with 1 second left on the clock.
LMU shot very well today and LSU could not buy a 3 today.
LMU undone by 25 (!!!) turnovers.

Pacific just beat UNLV, 77-75 in 2 OT's. Pacific only suiting up 10 players, 4 could not make the trip (two starters included). I think they have had three practices, and 3 games in the last 8 days. Off 14-15 days (covid-19) before. Going to be a tough go with such a short OOC; but more so with lack of experience playing with the new members. Let's hope the Ladies get all their WCC games in!

Thanks, ZagDad. Missed your post... but I am looking forward to tomorrows ladies game. Not optimistic for Pacific at this stage of the season, but hopeful it is a competitive game and both sides can manage to keep playing BB! So how, I cannot seem to get this to post. I'll keep trying, later!
