#30 Robertson (5'7") averaged 19.1 points per game, made 131- 3 pointers last year (wow thats a lot). Compare to our Katie Campbell who in her best year made 63- 3pointers. #30 Robertson led the nation in 3s made last year total and also per game 4.37. Last year was no fluke she also had over 100- 3 pointers made in each of her first two seasons, in addition to leading the nation in 3 point percentage for her career in the NCAA thus far.

#25 Williams (6'0") averaged 16.1 points per game, and 7.3 rebounds.

#22 LLanusa (6'0"") averaged 15.4 points per game and 4.6 rebounds.

#12 Gregory (6'0") Averaged 11.3 points per game and 4.3 rebounds. Made 43- of her 3 point attempts last year.

#3 Simpson (6'1") Averaged 6.9 rebounds per game.

As you can see this is a high scoring team and their goal is to just plain outscore you. If you leave #30 Robertson open on the 3 point line, she will light you up like 4th of July.

#30 Robertson has already scored over 1,000 points in just 2 seasons.

Second game South Dakota is returning 3 starters from last years team that had a record of 30-2.

#34 Sjerven 6'3" led the summit league in shooting percentage on FG .581 she had 63 blocks on the year, is quite the presence inside. Averaged 12.2 points and 7.3 rebounds on the year. Was the Summit League Defensive player of the year. Preseason pick Summit league player of the year. #34 Sjerven up her game even more in Summit League Tournament and was named MVP. Also had 46 steals on the year.

#22 Lamb 5'10" is quite the proficient sharpshooter from long range she shot a amazing .471 from 3 point range and made 57- 3 pointers on the year. She shot .477 on regular FG. #22 Lamb averaged 12.2 points per game to go along with 68 assists and 41 steals.

#11 Arens 5'10" averaged 9.3 points per game shot .457 on FG and made 40- 3 pointers on the year. #11 Arens also had 59 assists and 37 steals on the year.

WBB Houston beats WBB Oklahoma 97-85. Watched the entire game on TV so will give you the one game eye test on Oklahoma team.

#25 Williams (6'0") is by far the best athlete and player on this team she scored 25 points. 7-8 free throws.

#12 Gregory scored 18 points, 8 for 8 free throws.

#3 Simpson (6'1") their big underneath scored 11 points (5-7 free throws) and had 13 rebounds. #3 Simpson is great at passing the ball underneath to cutting players for a easy layups.

#32 Veitenheimer is a starter

#30 Robertson is a one dimensional player. #30 moves like a turtle or snail when dribbling and moving up court. You can easily steal the ball from her, then leave her in the dust on a fast break, looks like she is operating on 2 rubbery legs. #30 is also a liability on defense again so slow can't keep up with anyone. #30 is a specialist who lives on the 3 point line, however if you keep a defender on her at all times at the 3 point line, she is to slow to get separation. Houston kept a player in her face pretty much the whole game at the 3 point line so #30 was largely ineffective today never able to get in a rhythm.

Oklahoma is a outstanding free throw shooting team making 32 of 39 from the charity stripe today.

Oklahoma only has 8 players in uniform no depth However #25 Williams never seems to get tired, great motor. Make no mistake Oklahoma can put up some points.

The Zags biggest advantages over this team Depth, Rebounding, Speed, Height.

Things to be ready on defense preventing the great passes from #3 Simpson to cutters coming in for easy layups. Whoever is guarding #30 Robertson stay in her face on the 3 point line at all times.

Try to avoid fouls on Oklahoma they are money from the free throw line.

OU women drop out of Bad Boy Mowers Crossover Classic

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — The Oklahoma Sooners women’s basketball team will not be heading to Sioux Falls this weekend.

OU announced on Twitter the women’s basketball team will not play in the Bad Boy Mowers Crossover Classic Saturday through Monday at the Sanford Pentagon.

The WBB Sooners said the team cannot meet the player availability threshold for the tournament because of COVID-19 tracing. No replacement team has been announced.

Just thinking aloud but the Mens Zags had some positive tests in their traveling party not players. Lesson learned make traveling party for road games to a skelton crew other than players.

So the big question its Thanksgiving and the Lady Zags opponent for Saturday has to be replaced but the word did not come down until Thanksgiving good luck getting a hold of anyone. That brings us to Friday one day before scheduled game. Unfortunately most teams in the area are already booked for other games on 28 November. Would love to have Iowa, but they have another game on 2 Dec thats a tight fit.

Another thing to consider MBB seem to find replacements at the drop of a hat, but colleges might not want to fork the bucks for WBB teams to play at the last minute. The question also remains does Big Bad Mower CrossOver Classic have the same motivation to replace a WBB as they did replacing six mens teams in the tournament. All the mens games were on national TV and they were getting paid big bucks for that. While none of the WBB games are are on TV, and the only money that can be made is paying Flo Hoops and maybe tournament organizers don't see any of that money. Just food for thought.

So us Lady Zags fans will cross our fingers and hope Big Bad Mower Crossover Classic will come through and find a opponent for the Lady Zags to face Saturday and support WBB as much as they do MBB.

Games times are Central time, so noon Pacific both days, I believe. Going up against South Carolina is a challenge in any case, but as the first game . . . Wow.

Concerns South Carolina had 3,500 fans in attendance their first home game. Watching the Gonzaga MBB 2 games noticed Few, Kansas and Auburn coach spent most of the the game screaming from the sidelines with their mask below their nose and mouth. You could actually here the the Auburn coach screaming like he was in my hear. When players came off the court Few was pictured again with no mask covering his mouth chirping up his players. Its no wonder so many coaches are getting Covid-19 they are not taking it seriously and think they cannot be heard through your mask, which you can if you have a quality mask. Professional NFL coaches are playing on a huge field yet they are wearing their mask or getting fined. When I was attending church services during Covid-19 I always wore a mask and found my voice still carried when singing. Its a mind over matter thing coaches don't think their players are paying attention to them if they cannot see their lips move. Ironically none of the players were watching the coaches today as they were playing as their coach was screaming on the sideline.

Yes what did happen to the schedule, we were slated to played South Dakota the 2nd day. Now we hope South Carolina and South Dakota make it to the 2nd and 3rd day without Covid.

Yes South Carolina plays us after playing the day before, but thats no advantage for us because South Carolina is so loaded they can field two different starting lineups.

Its a disadvantage to us that South Dakota gets one day rest before playing us.

In my opinion we lost a game plus we had a negative change to our schedule, and the worst part is we don't get to play until the 2nd day. Ok now I will once again and cross my fingers and hope for better luck that we get to play two games in this tournament.

Some thoughts on this year before the Lady Zags get out of the gate. Last year is in the books this year is going to be much more challenging for the Lady Zags. South Carolina goes with out saying. But South Dakota and South Dakota State have already proved they are worthy of top 25 rankings. SDS already beat #18 Iowa State.

I listened to both coaches from SC and SD after game today. Both coaches impressed the heck out of me, both female coaches by the way. Of note SD has one of her starters out with a knee injury.

SD also has a freshman #42 Krull (5'8") that started the game and went 6 for 9 (12 Points) she was the #67 prospect in the nation. Oh yeah this was against #1 rated WBB team in the nation.

SD had a Senior finally getting a chance to start #2 Korngable (5'8") and she stepped up 7-14 FG (16 points), 7 assists, and 6 rebounds.

The WCC is also going to be much tougher this year. BYU with Gonzales is a force to be reckoned with, and we already found out losing the last game of the season last year that Portland will be equally challenging. No cake walk this year.

Oh then throw in the fact your next game Covid could snatch from you in a moments notice.

Observation from WBB Oregon #11 Mikesell (5'11") made 8 of 10- 3 pointers in their first game. Also Portland is playing Oregon 30 November at 8:00 PM. Its to bad CLF does not have the same mentality as Few he wants to play all the top teams he can. Its nice to have 2 perennial top teams to face right in our back yard Oregon, Stanford, then you throw it a good tournament and you could face 5 top 25 teams just like the MBB Zags.

Saw the after game interviews with players and coaches of Zags and SC. I liked CLF stating we don't believe in moral victories. Heard Jill had got hammered in the face under the basket on one play and they took a injury timeout and Jill stayed in the game.

On the interviews Jill looked find to the visible eye and both her and Jenn did a great job responding to questions, neither looked happy but hungry for next game which I liked.

Once again impressed by both coaches and once again both female coaches.

Looking forward to tomorrows game against SD. Its great to have the Lady Zags back and playing basketball. GO ZAGS

Of note Coach Staley has the same philosophy as Few and said in her interview a lot of top teams don't want to play teams like SC and Gonzaga because they are capable of beating you. But she stated playing those kind of games makes your team better. SC next game is against #8 North Carolina State.

So again I think its time next year for CLF to open up the communications line and get Oregon on the schedule. Zags playing Oregon will be good for both teams. 99% of Zags and Lady Zag fans love both CLF and Graves. And that Love by Coach Graves remains i.e. his son is a walk-on playing for the Zags. Great coaches find a way to work things out, and I'm sure CLF and Coach Graves are more than capable of that.

So again I think it time next year CLF to let your guard down and play Oregon. Zags playing Oregon will be good for both teams. 99% of Zags and Lady Zag fans love both CLF and Graves. And that Love by Coach Graves remains i.e. his son is a walk-on playing for the Zags.

ZAB, I don't that CLF is the problem. She got her head coaching gig because KG left. I would think CLF was very glad KG left giving her the opportunity. I think it is very likely issue is between the GU administration and KG and I do not see that rift ending anytime soon even though it would benefit the Lady Zags.

Kayleigh Truong needs to shoot 100 free throws a day to get better, and create good muscle memory at the free throw line.

You have to work hard at your weaknesses to become a better all around player.
