Default DZ's 9th Annual One BOLD Prediction Thread

We normally reserve this thread for the first week of football season, and - well, we'll leave that week up to interpretation.

Suffice it to say that we're late.

You know the Rules: Any Prediction is fine but it must be BOLD

However, there is ONE new rule this year: Given that the Zags are entering the season as the number one ranked team in MOST/MANY Services: We WILL NOT be Accepting "Zags Win National Championship" as BOLD - and that is a good thing because if Duke were smart enough to have the same sort of annual thread, they'd have the same rule.

    MINE:

A GU Freshman Will Win WCC POY
Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect.

    Smile Kiddwell's "boldy"...

...Zags, against all odds and weird circumstances, WIN 30 GAMES again!

The walk-ons get to play in the Zags final game.

I suspect the walk-ons will all get 30+ minutes during garbage time of WCC games.

Jalen Suggs will enjoy such a great season for Gonzaga, Chet Holmgren will be the Zags' first #1 commit.

4 of the top 5 scorers this year were not playing last year.

    - tough to go bold when expectations are a final four appearance.
    - my bold prediction is the zags will make the final four AND THE BOLD PREDICTION IS.....there will be FANS IN ATTENDANCE when they receive the championship trophy.

    Gonzaga wins a National Championship.

Not sure if that constitutes bold, though.

Zags will have six scorers in double figures.
My posts indicate that I don't seem to follow college basketball all that closely.

Ballo makes multiple All-American lists without starting a game.

Dan Dakich reluctantly admits that Gonzaga’s undefeated national championship team might have contended for a top five finish in the Big Ten.

    Ballo breaks a backboard.

I predicted this last year too, before we knew he wouldn't be playing.

Zakharov will be better than Ballo this season (not so much the next)

Agree with Martin. There will be a lot of talk at the end of the season that Ballo will get drafted in the 1st round.

Nine players will average 10+ minutes per game OR a Zag transfers out mid season

Maybe not so bold after all because as much as Few seems to have a rep for running a tight 7-8 man rotation, as recently as the 2018-19 season Zags had 9 players who averaged 10+ mpg.

now that prediction about Walton is exceedingly bold since he uses that term for the Pac 12 or earlier Pac 10.
maybe he will give an honorary Pac 12 award of some kind to a WCC team. I can't think of a bold prediction, but I will stick my neck out and guess Ballo will get more minutes than Zacharov in Jan and Feb.
I am so happy to have a season after all (so far) that i am about to burst with joy.

Default Two For the Price of One

    1. Gonzaga's leading scorer this season will be a freshman.

    2. Ballo will not foul out of any WCC games.
