    Default Top 144 Previews

For many years I've followed this website which previews their Top 144 Men's college basketball teams.

    https://www.collegesportsmadness.com...p-144-previews

They start at #144 and work their way to #1 over a period of several months before the season starts.

Today they are at #66 - Butler.

Other teams already on their list on the day I posted this are:

    #70 - St. Mary's
    #82 - Washington
    #99 - Pepperdine
    #115 - San Francisco
    #133 - Santa Clara

I bet Gonzaga will be #3, #2 or #1... time will tell. Enjoy!

Appears to me they have seriously underrated USF and SMC...maybe Pepp, too.

Ditto 50. I guess we've been pre-occupied. One thing is clear, we've been in the top 3 is every poll. With the no 1 seeding, if we can get the season going, we are a FF team assuming no injuries or infections. Great news. I do not remember us being quite so consistently high..

SMC lost a lot of production from last year’s roster. This Gaels team looks like a complete rebuild. On paper, they might be overrated at No. 70.

However, Randy Bennett has a proven track record of player development. Underclassmen who barely play grow into all-conference players. He coaches them up to play great team ball. I wouldn’t be surprised to see them finish the season in fifth place in the WCC, but a national top-40 finish and an NCAA Tournament bid wouldn’t surprise me, either.

While the overall average in the league may creep up a little, that's pretty depressing that the 3rd best - whichever it is - is sub 70. Other than BYU, no top 50 in conference. To the extent a conference season is played at all, it won't be a huge help.

Maybe they'll all outplay expectations. Pepp should be better.
