Monster game for Sloot tonight. 15 assists, 15 points on 6-9 shooting, 3-4 behind the arc, and 6 rebounds. Most importantly 2 point win over the Aces, which ties them in the win column w/ Las Vegas.

Storm demolished the Liberty, starters played limited minutes. Bird picked up 7 assists in only 17 minutes, but that means Sloot more than doubled her up in that department tonight.

Chicago got the game winning bucket off a beautiful dish from Sloot of course.

    First the game.

Chicago spent most of the first half down by double digits. Sloot had 10 assists but only 2 points on 25% shooting at half. 2nd half, the Sky and CV found their shot and opened up a 11 point lead with 2 minutes to go. The Sky spent most of the final 2 minutes missing 3s, shot clock violations and turning the ball over (like the bad offense the lady zags slip into at times) and Vegas went on a 11 point run to tie the game with just over 13 seconds to go. The final play by the Sky was great but it was terrible play for the previous 2 minutes which required them to make that play.

Every time Vegas and Chicago play it comes down to the wire.

Great game and win for Sloot and the Sky.

    Another milestone for Courtney Vandersloot.

First player in WNBA history to record 15+ points, 15+ assists, and 5+ rebounds in a single game.

    Great job Courtney.

Hey SeaCat, you notice that Cheyenne Parker did not play for the Sky tonight and Gabby Williams only played 5-1/2 minutes?

Good game for the Sky knocking off the Aces to end the Aces 7 (?) game win streak to move within a half game of the Aces in the standings and in a virtual tie with the Sparks and Lynx for 3rd place.

I did notice that. Parker didn't start the previous game, Hebard did. But Ruthy only played a few minutes and Parker scored 17. I didn't see it in the box score initially tonight, but then I saw Parker was listed as DNP--ANKLE INJURY. Gabby seemed to have discovered her 3 point shot earlier in the season, but it's since disappeared.

It's such a strange season. Stella Johnson (rookie) was cut recently I think by Chicago, she was picked up by Washington, tonight she started and dropped 25 points on 8-13 shooting, 6-9 from 3. Atlanta had 2 players score 30 or more and still lost to the Mystics.

Minnesota took over in the 4th quarter and pulled away from Dallas. Dangerfield is tightening her grip on ROY and Ogunbowale, after several nice games, reverted to the bad version of herself and killed her teams chances of winning, going 6-23 from the field and 2-10 behind the arc.

LA jumped out to a big lead in Q1 against Phoenix and the Merc couldn't catch up. They are fading fast, now 6-6.

It looks like Seattle is head and shoulders above everybody else, then you have Las Vegas, LA, Minnesota and Chicago lumped together. NY and Atlanta are clearly in the cellar, that leaves 5 teams duking it out for the last 3 playoff positions.

Chicago Sky vs NY Liberty on right now (4:00 PM) on CBS Sports Network.

Chicago at 8-4 ties with the best record ever by a Sky team after 12 games.

After a very slow start, Chicago got things into gear shooting 22-42 52.4% and 9-16 (60%) from 3 in the first half. Sky up 57 (in the first half) to 44 at half.

CV started slow but finished the half strong with 6 pts (3-5), 8 assists and 3 steals with 1 t/o.

Looks like Bird is taking a day off for Seattle against Indiana. Didn't play in Q1.

Indiana is about to beat Seattle. That's a surprise. Huge game for Loyd, but cold shooting from most of the rest of the team.

Storm on a 2 game losing streak, their lead in the standings shrunk quickly. Bird sat out again. They were getting thumped by Las Vegas. Made a game of it in the 4th quarter, but too little too late.

Sky jumped out to a big lead early, but Indiana is slowly catching up approaching halftime. Sloot is in scoring mode, 17 points on 6-8 shooting. Only 2 assists thus far.

Sloot cooled off in Q4, didn't score but finished w/ 9 assists. Sky win. Now only 1 game back of Seattle in the standings.

Thru today's game CV is averaging 13.4 ppg and 8.7 assists/game. She is also right at the mythical 50/40/90 line for shooting percentages.

Seattle struggling a bit during the latest round of games Bird is sitting out, but Minnesota has some problems of their own without Fowles. Just lost to Atlanta, the second worst team in the league.

All lower ranked teams had leads starting the 4th quarter, but only Atlanta was able to hold on (barely) and upset the Minnesota Lynx 78-75. The Dallas Wings only scored 15 points in the 4th quarter while allowing the LA Sparks to score 25 points to lose to the Sparks (81 - 84). The Washington Mystics had the lead on Phoenix, but let the Mercury wriggle away 88 - 87.

After yesterday's games, Seattle (11-3) is still in first but only by 0.5 game over the Las Vegas Aces (10-3) and the LA Sparks (10-3). The Chicago Sky are another 0.5 game back in 4th place at 10-4. While Seattle is on a 2 game losing streak, Las Vegas is on a 2-game winning streak, LA is on a 7-game winning streak and the Sky are on a 4-game winning streak.

Seattle, Las Vegas and Chicago all play tomorrow and they play the same teams this week that they played last week. Tomorrow's games:

    - Chicago Sky vs NY Liberty @ 4:00 PM PST on CBS Sports Network
    - Las Vegas Aces vs Dallas Wings @ 6:00 PM PST on CBS Sports Network
    - Seattle Storm vs Indiana Fever @ 7:00 PM PST on ESPN2

Bad news for the Sky, as two starters, Diamond DeShields and Azurį Stevens will be out for tomorrow's game versus NY. Thankfully the game is against the worst team in the league.

Will the Sue Bird suit up for the Storm? Will the Storm figure out why they continually keep starting out so slow? The league lead may be on the line tomorrow.

I think it was announced today, Dallas will be without Isabelle Harrison and Moriah Jefferson for the rest of the season. So many teams juggling lineups. Jefferson just can't get healthy, she hasn't played a full season since her rookie year.

The Sky are in a battle w/ the pesky Liberty. Up 63-59 midway thru Q3. Sloot has 8 points and 5 assists thus far.

The Sky are flirting with loosing to the lowly Liberty. They were down 8. Down 4 w/ a bit less than 4 minutes to go.

Well, if you give up 100+ points to New York, you deserve to lose. Disaster for Chicago. 101-99 final. Sloot w/ 15 points 9 assists. Quigley went off for 29. But the defense stinks obviously.

    ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

    This.

Prior to tonight, NY's highest scoring game was 85 points and their average scoring per game was 72+ ppg and the Sky let them score 101???

Without a doubt Chicago missed Stevens inside and Deshields all over the court, but you simply can't play on one side of the ball.

Sloot had a decent game with 15 points (4-12 shooting - Ouch), 4 rebounds, 9 assists, and only one turnover.

Pretty disappointing effort overall by the Sky tonight.

Seattle bounces back to beat Indiana by 13. It was pretty much even other than a huge 2nd quarter by the Storm. Big game by Stewie w/ some help from Howard, Clark and Whitcomb.

Las Vegas survived a late push by Dallas. After missing several games, Sabally is back and was a monster tonight. 28 points/11 rebounds off the bench. Not quite enough though.
