Zagoria's pretty good with predictions. In this one, I think he's correct. I do hope Andrew is ours. He's very good and has experience. Maybe Suggs could learn a thing or two even though the PG job is his for this year.....so the thinking goes anyway.

Both started every game as freshmen and sophomores (67 for AN, 62 for NWG), AN played 33 mpg, NWG 35 mpg, shooting % was close AN 48.8 on 2's, 32.7 on 3's, and 77.0 on FT, compared to 49.4, 30.7, and 74.4 for NWG. NWG averaged 14.5 pts and 4.5 rebs compared to 9.5 and 2.9 for AN, but AN had better assist to turnover at 5.5/2.3, compared to 5.1/2.9 for NWG. NWG seems more a scorer, AN more a distributor. Not sure AN would reach NWG level, but I'd really like to see what the staff could do with him in a redshirt season.
Sorry, nice player I donít see putative Wooden winner NWG coming from him.

Maybe not, but I think a year or two in the nurturing bosom of Zagland will mold him into a far better team player.

Mike White vs Mark Few? He can’t help but get a whole lot better.

He better be ready for Mark's dry humor? I laugh every time I think of the story of Rui in practice. Few told Rui that he made a "dumbass play". Rui thought he was referring to Domas, but Rem or another teammate gave him the correct translation.

Anybody hearing anything about Nembhard? I think the longer it takes, our chances of landing him lessen. Do you agree or disagree? I am hearing Duke and Gonzaga but I fear Duke more than any other team from a recruiting standpoint. What is everyone thinking here? Thanks

Duke only has one scholarship left like we do, but they are waiting to see if the number one player in 2021 (Kuminga) will reclassify into 2020. So I would assume that Duke is trying to get an answer out of Kuminga before they give Nembhard a firm yes on a committable offer.

I think Nembhard should just forget about Duke and commit to Gonzaga. But of course I am a bit biased. Any thoughts as to when he might make his announcement?

I have no idea, I'm patiently waiting for a Caldwell update.

Creighton? Arenít they about to go on probation from the FBI sting? Seems like a weird choice this early in the process for a four star kid

Everyone is back except one Tyshon Alexander.,. With his NBA departure the Jays have fallen from 4 rank to 17 rank . Very good program there. I hope Andrew gets here!!

What if anything does that mean for his older brother?

Nothing new here - I just liked it. This author made the same case yesterday for Duke. This one was better.

Jonathan Kuminga, the number one player in the class of 2021, just graduated from his high school today which means he has officially reclassified from 2021 to 2020. This means a couple of indirect things for Gonzaga

    1. Paolo, Chet, Watson, Sallis will more than likely jump one spot in the rankings. This would put Chet as the number one overall player in the class according to 247 and ESPN. Paolo #3, Watson #16, Sallis #18.

    2. Kuminga hasn't announced where he will play yet. His final 5 is Auburn, Duke, Kentucky, Texas Tech, and G League. If he does choose Duke, that would leave them with no more scholarships and they would have to rescind their transfer offer to Nembhard. Many believe that Nembhard's final 2 schools are Duke and Gonzaga.

The article says he was a "key clog" on the Gators roster. Hope that's a typo!

Great program no doubt, but role is uncertain due to who they recruit. If you want to make sure you reach the NCAA tournament, USC would not be my first choice. All this adds up for Gonzaga as the logical choice. It shouldn't be this hard and I was thinking GU would have him committed by now. i like the fact that he is doing his due diligence so well - that benefits Gonzaga. I remain optimistic until someone tells me it isn't happening.

Funny quote from the comment section from the twitter link: “Gonzaga can’t afford to outbid those programs”

I’d be shocked if Andrew is not a Zag. He would have been a great fit from day 1 and even a better fit now.

I’d love to see caldwellzag double down on his post from a couple weeks ago saying the same thing, “shocked” if Andrew is not a Zag.

I worry about that quote coming before Duke became involved.

Hooray - I am having a bad feeling here. Please believe me that I know absolutely nothing. But it seems too quiet if things were going in the right direction, It seems as if it is taking too long if things were going to break for GU. I have always said the longer it takes the worse it is for GU. The fact that nobody responded to your post. The fact that Duke is involved and a surprise team like USC coming out of nowhere worry me. When other transfers were looking good, you could feel the momentum building. There has not been a bigger transfer than Nembhard and it just seems to quiet. I truly hope i am wrong and not reading the tea leaves right. When things happen - they generally happen quickly.

It's possible things are moving slowly because there may not be a clear read on whether Nembhard will be eligible this year or next year. If he gets a waiver, GU is likely not an option, but we should still have a good shot if no waiver is involved. If we find any possible waiver is denied, and things are still moving slowly, then yes, that would be the time to worry.
