    Default Encouraging sign regarding GU opening in the fall

    Via Tweet from the GU Bulletin:

    Today
    @Gonzaga_Prez
    announced via email to all undergraduate students that
    @GonzagaU
    plans to reopen in for the fall 2020 semester after moving online this spring due to COVID-19. This will include returning to in-person instruction while following public health guidelines.

    Guess we'll have to wait and see what the public health guidelines are?

    For the athletes, they could follow in U North Carolina's footsteps and have a single person take the exams.
    It's not funny.

    Be careful, because if we got caught, then UOP would get another two years of probation! That’s what happened after the UNC fiasco!

    My post of encouragement was removed. If the present trend continues, we should be in good shape for school and the basketball season.

    What about summer classes? If they don't open will those boys that had planned on spending the summer in Spokane be barred or able to practice and workout

    I think there will be a lot to figure out, by the NCAA, WCC, and GU. The NCAA and conferences will have to figure out how to handle schools in different locales being able to start practices earlier or later than others and the competitive advantage that creates. There is the liability aspect that will have to be figured out as well. No school, event location, conference, or league wants to be exposed to the risk of a potential transmission event and the negligence claims that would ensue; so there will be lots of time spent on the phones with lawyers and insurers before any decision is made.
