Default **Quarantine Remedy** - Past Gonzaga NCAA Tournament Viewing Guide

    https://docs.google.com/document/d/1...hyNkvCOMw/edit

I'm sure I'm not the only one around here that is still struggling to come to terms that we are without the NCAA Tournament this year. The only remedy that comes to mind is revisiting past Zag tournament games and reflecting on the the wild ride we have been on. I have created a google spreadsheet (linked above) of all GU tournament games and associated links to watch each game in it's entirety. There are still a number of games that I have been unable to find online (Youtube & Reddit). It would be great to crowd source fellow Zags to either find links for these games or upload recordings and fill the spreadsheet. The spreadsheet can be edited by anyone. Hang in there, everyone.

There's way to many L's in there, 2011! Can you fix that?

This is fantastic! Thank you so much for putting this together. I hope folks can add to this list. It's a shame that these games have gotten harder and harder to track down.
Anyway, I decided to watch GU vs Indiana State (2011 I believe).
Here are a few quick observations: GU is light years ahead of where we were in 2011. That was not great basketball. Wow! I really think the 2020 team would have been up 20 at half on the 2011 team.
The athleticism and size disparity is enormous. Watching that was fun because the growth of the GU program, like a nephew you haven't seen in 9 years, sneaks up on you.

Second round ‘00 win over St. John’s remains one of my all time favorite Zag games. Top 3 for sure. Some vintage Gus Johnson moments in there too. Oh, and TMI but the last couple of decades my Library passcode is “8276”.

Also can we get this to the hall of fame please? Finding the links to the 2017 run isn’t very easy. At least we can keep them
In there and it’s be easy for someone like me to find them when I wanna watch them

I watched the '99 team last night: Stanford, Florida and UCONN. That team was really awesome. I forget how great they were. Santangila: I think he was perhaps the best or one of the best 3 (Santangelo, Dickau, Nigel Williams Goss) point guards ever to wear a Zag uni. And Frahm the best shooter. And Casey Calvary the second best power forward behind Sabonis. It's always fun to listen to Gus Johnson announce that game and his famous outcry at the end of the game, "And the slipper still fits" is etched into our consciousness forever.

I'm looking forward to watching more Zag basketball today. Thanks 2011Zag, and gonzagafan I hope to watch some of yours too. Thanks.

Actually does anyone have anything of the 2014 Oklahoma State game? Been looking everywhere for not just a replay of the game itself (which woulda been nicer) but I can’t even find a flippin highlight of this game. Lol

    Default Fill That Spreadsheet!

I hope this is helping fill the void for some.

I know there must be some of you with of the more recent games saved on your DVR. If so, upload them to YouTube and share the wealth! I would be happy to help anyone that is unsure how to upload from their DVR. I'm sure lots of people would love to see Clarke taking apart Baylor last year or the dismantling of Seton Hall in 2016. There also may be more games hidden on YouTube, maybe a team of posters can form a search and rescue team to find those lost contests.

    Stay healthy out there!

I had all 2014-2019 games saved to my old DVR, then I was forced to get new equipment because it wouldn’t play anymore :\

Funny watching Zags play South Carolina and listening to Sean McD and a Dickie V on the call. Did ESPN have own feed? I was at the game.

i watched a couple games last night and the announcing was in some foreign language: Chinese, Russian...I wondered if our videos of the games were being taken over by the Russians? hahahaa hahahah a good laugh. It was really weird, but I watched the games in spite of the language differences. Weird. I've mostly watched the games of the '99 team. This years team reminds me most of them. I saw one of the games against Syracuse and loved watching how tough Sabonis was. That guy was really tough. I can see what Jazz sees in him now. He is the best post player we've ever had. And we've had a lot of them. We really threw that game away at the end...Kind of like the UCLA game in '06. I sure didn't think too much of Wiltjer in that Syracuse game, but really enjoyed watchin Dranginis again. He was a stud. Watched that Northwestern game in 2017. Dang good game...Really amazing how close it got at the end. Watched all of the 2017 games listed. That West Virginia game was really great, and we'll never forget Matherw's 3 to send us into the Elite 8. I think this year's team was better than that team, but I'll say one thing, the '17 team could really play defense. I believe they were #1 in the country on D. Another thing about that team is that I forgot how good Collison was (the freshman) in the NCAA Tournament. I'm pretty sure we would have beaten North Carolina in the championship game if he hadn't fouled out. He was unstoppable. Also Nigel Wiliams Goss was not himself in that game because of the huge blister he had on the palm of his shooting hand that he had gotten the night before. We were better than Carolina. Too bad it didn't work out for us. From watching the games again I'd vote for this 2017 team as the best ever. DEFENSE wins championships.

ESPN has the international broadcast rights to the Final Four so while us Americans have to listen to Jim Nantz and the CBS crew, the international folks listen to Dickie V (not sure that's really better though...)

Watched the 1999 Stanford and FLA games. Hadn't seen them since the day they were played. I'm struck by how much we have changed as a program since then. With all due respect to these original Bravehearts, that was a team with gunners and so so defense. Their lack of athleticism though was made up with a grit and toughness that we didn't see for awhile during the "Few 32" years. Spink, Dench, Nilson, Calvary just wanted it more. Frahm was so deadly from outside

I had forgotten how much of a jitterbug Quinton Hall was, Since it was his senior year, we didn't see him again and I think he has been overlooked a bit in the pedigree of Guard U.

Thanks for cheering me up during this depressing Mad March

I watched the 1999 Stanford and Florida games also over the weekend. Great memories. Anybody have a link for the 1999 Elite Eight UConn game? I can't find it anywhere.

ZZ: what stood out for me watching those two games was that the Zags were undersized but matched up well with these teams in terms of athleticism. Calvary and Santangelo were borderline pros with elite hops (I think Santangelo had one of the highest vertical leaps in the NBA combine); Frahm was a good athlete who had a some on-and-off NBA time over 3 years); Hall also was quick, strong player, great rebounder for 5'8'' (if my memory serves me right, he went toe to toe with the all american UConn guard), and Spink could jump but was very light). Yeah they had grit and toughness, but their athleticism surprised the big boys.

I’m currently working on seeing what I can do for 2014, and possibly 2016. I’ll see if I can get what I want. Other than that, I’m not going to be able to help out further. That’s the best I can do

Watched the 2005 EWU game on SWX last night. Fun except for Heister continually mentioning the upcoming Sonics game. Made it kinda sad.
