Joel ... Loved seeing his confidence soar as the game went on. Haven't heard if something happened to Woolridge, but Ayayi was running the show in the 2nd half. ( maybe Ryan not playing was just a matchup thing ... I dunno).
So many brackets, so little time.

Good for Ayayi, confidence seems back, but how is Ford not the MOP with what he did. 42 pts in game 1, couple game winners, even that first half today he was amazing. SMC can be hard to watch sometimes because nobody other than Ford or Fitts wants to shoot.

I went with Gilder tonight because his defense on Ford in the second half was awesome. He also scored 15 points mostly in the second half. I wish he would get it because I think he deserves it for once because he's had to play a back seat role most of the year, and he's a really, really good player. He is really coming into his own, and I hope he has a great NCAA Tournament.

Ayayi and Timme will get most of the votes, and they both played great, especially on offense. Ayayi has had a great tournament. Congrats to him, He could actually get the tournament MVP, which would be great for him. It was cool to listen to Dick Vital rave about Timme the first half. I love it when Vital does that. He deserved all of the praise because he did play great that first half,

        Go Zags!!!

It's pretty rare they give MVP/MOP to the losing team. Joel sure stepped his play up this tournament.

Gonzaga had at least 5 players score in double figures for the 20th time this season. No team has had more such games in a season since Duke in 1998-99 (21).

Timme had his "coming out" party tonight............his stretch at the end of the 1st half relit the fire in the guys. Joel was great also, loved his confidence to take it to the hole and shoot the 3.

Going with Timme tonight based only on the efficiency and mental lift at the end of the 1st half.

Great 2nd half tonight after 3 tight, slow, lack of confidence halves prior.

On to the Dance as the #1 in the West!!!!!!!!

              Go ZAGS

Tough choice, but I went with Timme. He shined tonight.

                Ayayi deserves MOP

M.O.P. Joel Ayayi got my vote for filling the stat line.
                    Bonjour tristesse.

Most Value Player (On the Bench?)

He had a hard time staying on the floor, but made a few good plays when he was in there.

I went with Timme. I thought his play kept the team close in the first half and helped set the stage for the team to shine in the second. They were able to play loose in the second half and that helped some threes go in, in my opinion-- this probably would have been a grind to the end if they had to play catch up in the second half

Would anyone one make it to the podium? I'm picturing five guys sprawled out on the ground blaming one another for knocking each of the them down.

I wanted to like Seljaas because he plays hard and gets some points for looking like Nicholas Cage in Raising Arizona (one of my favorite movies), but after last night I'm hoping the Lone Biker of the Apocalypse matches up with him in the next game.

My vote went to Drew Timme. As others have noted, his stellar low post play on offense late in 1st half flipped the momentum of the game to the Zags.

Kudos also to Ayayi and Petrusev for strong performances. Shout out to the coaches for the defensive adjustment on Ford immediately at the start of 2nd half. Totally disrupted the Gael offense.

And Zags had only 6 turnovers for the game!!

Strong cases could be made for Petrusev, Ayayi, and Timme but Petro got my vote over Joel and Drew
