Anybody know anything about this kid? Is he a preferred walk-on or scholarship player? I canít remember being more surprised by a commitment since Elias Harris.

I have no clue about him but I did a quick Google search and he's a 6'9 guy from Chaminade in West Hills, California

Highlight video from junior season is promising, seems to fit the Petrusev mold and could develop into a rotation player over time. Good footwork and touch with great size. Assuming he is a walk-on this seems like a win-win for Abe and Gonzaga.

Didn't see a single dunk in 6.5 minutes. End of the video showed him at 6'10" 220 (looked a little thicker than that).

Was thinking Ryan Edwards & not being disrespectful because I liked Ryan.

    Anyone?

    Huh, I'm guessing walk-on.

    Congratulations

Nice to at least have another body for practices. If Petrusev leaves as expected I was only counting 13 players with walk- ons included. Good luck to him.

I would say the majority of people on this board expect him to turn pro, NBA or Europe, whether they think he is ready or not. Maybe I'm wrong.

He is a walk on. 4-5 years, potential starter by senior year.

You can make 7 figures in Europe and even if he isn't NBA ready he is still a draft & stash prospect.

If Petrusev returns, awesome. Don't bank on it, though.

Sounds intriguing if he can pull it together with the Zags coaching. There’s enough scholarships which open up that he’ll hopefully earn on by his sophomore or junior season!

Per this tweet, he's an "high acedemic student" also, so that is super!

Looks like he also had an offer from Cal State - Northridge. http://www.verbalcommits.com/players/abe-eagle

I don't know anything about this guy, but do you remember Frank Kaminski from Wisconsin ? He came to the Badgers and averaged 2.8 as a freshman, 4.2 as a sophomore, and was the College player of the year as a senior. Who knows, maybe lightening can strike twice, and this guy will be a late blooming star too.

It's pretty amazing that we can be getting this caliber of player as a walk-on. Welcome board, Abe!
