Much appreciated. A lot of certainty in the bracket at this Stage. I'm predicting a Zags/BYU rematch, with Zags taking care of business.

If I'm Pepperdine or USF I'd rather have the six seed than the 5 seed.

Not sure I agree. Clearly 6th seed has a harder road to hoa having to play SMC and BYU before getting to GU. As the fifth seed you need to play two competitive games but not as difficult as 2 sed and 3 seed before getting to GU. Sounds like six of one half dozen of the other.

Either way GU gets the best deal and likely will play either SMC or BYU in the final. Hurrah, I'll be there. My first trip to Oreleans arena. I'm super pumped as an 81 year old ZAG.

    Thanks 50!

I was excited when Pacific joined the league in in 2013, in what I believe was of the minority opinion. Damon has done extremely well and I think he should be in the conversation about coach of the year. Pacific was picked in several accounts to be dead last this season, and most other accounts to be second or third to last. Now in the WCC tourney seeding the are sitting at #4 in the WCC and a 22-9 record. I just hope Damon doesn't jump to "greener pastures," sometime. To build on his success, he will have to contend next year with losing 43.0% of scoring and 42.4% of rebounding from this year's team, plus losing a tough-as-nails Tripp. But a strong fourth team is what this league needs and hopefully this year shows that Pacific intends to be that team.

Saturday night could change my opinion if SMC is tougher than last time, BUT at this point have to think that zags vs USF in the semis would be a tougher matchup than SMC in the semis.

Much of this information is still not available on the WCC’s own website. Wikipedia is more up to date than the conference that is running this tournament in less than a week.

I didn’t realize that the WCC had gone back to rewarding the top seeds with byes into the semifinals. That week off will be great for this team.

They must have finished a late lunch in San Bruno, MCMM. They've gotten the brackets up:

So the Zags can either play Pacific, USF, San Diego, or LMU in the first game. On a neutral court (neutral, yeah right) I like our chances against any of them.

My guess would be as follows:

LMU and SCU win in the first round.

USF beats LMU and SCU beats Pepperdine in the second round

Pacific beats USF and St. Mary's beast SCU in the third

Zags beat the Tigers and SMC upsets BYU in the semis

Zag wallop SMC in the final.

I think for St. Mary's this is the best scenario that would keep them from dropping out of the field.

Pacific might have a few new tricks.

    Nice.
I have straight chalk. If there's an upset I guess I'd expect it in one of the first round games. Or maybe Pepperdine could beat SMC. I dunno.

Agree! Woolridge and Tillie and Kispert could all use some rest and recovery time. They need to be quick and bouncy for postseason play!

It was one of the bargaining chips . . .along with not having to play the prior season's worst two teams twice
