MCMM, you have inspired me to join you on your "Quest."

Started today. Unlikely I'll be able to lift my arms tomorrow.

A few years back I set a goal of doing 100 push ups in a row without stopping. None of those half push ups perfect form on all 100. I worked on it for months. At this point I don't remember how many I eventually got up to. But i do remember I quit because my shoulders started to hurt.

How did the dislocated shoulder come about, MCMM?

    I’m not really sure.

I woke up face down on the floor after a bachelor party in New Orleans. Dennis Rodman and a pair of Spice Girl impersonators were passed out in the room. I had a huge gash in the side of my head. I was wearing just a jock strap and a Cleveland Browns jersey.

My shoulder has never been the same.

To be fair, it was an autographed game worn Tim Couch jersey. I got eleven bucks for it on eBay.

Forgot about this thread. Sometime in March I decided to try and get to 21,000 push ups by the end of the year. I made it to 3,000 today. Only 18,000 to go. Which at this point still seems possible.

I’m tracking for this year, but I am running a bit behind last year’s pace. I just cracked 4,000 on Wednesday. I need to pick it up, if I’m even going to hit 10,000 for the year.

    21,000 is ambitious. Good luck.

I have been doing 125 a day for a few weeks now. Going to ramp that number up soon.

I am at 4140 pushups. Hurt my back 10 days ago lifting a rototiller out of my truck. It's just now getting to the point it doesn't hurt. I figure I will start doing push-ups again within the next couple days.

Made it to 5000. Back injury took longer than expected to heal. I am hoping to be around 6500 by the end of the month. Well that's my short term goal anyways.

Made it to 7000. Third of the way to my goal.

I’m out. I aggravated an old shoulder injury a couple of weeks ago. It hurts to dress myself, let alone perform upper body strength exercises.

Back to running on bad knees until those give out.

I thought it would take longer to feel this old.

I decided to give it a try again starting 7-1. I'll try to pick up some slack for ya' MCMM. But I also have body parts that unexpectedly fall off without warning so we shall see.

I get it. Getting over the back injury sucked. I felt like I was getting into a groove again. Then I went and played some pick up bball this weekend and broke my index finger. So no push ups for a little while. Not a great start to my 40s one injury after the next.

My physician believes the injury is a labrum tear. I’ve been referred to a sports medicine specialist to confirm the diagnosis. I don’t have an appointment date. If it is torn, surgery will probably be necessary.

    Ugh.
