Default Game Previews ( From Gonzaga Athletics + SR )

    LINK: https://gozags.com/news/2020/2/4/men...-thursday.aspx

    • The Zags have won 22 straight versus the Lions, and 26 of the last 27 meetings. The Lions last win in the series came on Feb. 18, 2010, 74-66, in L.A. The Bulldogs are 43-3 against Loyola Marymount under Mark Few.
    • Gonzaga is 37-6 at home against the Lions and has won all 16 meetings in the McCarthey Athletic Center. GU has won 29 straight at home over Loyola Marymount. The last Lion win in Spokane was on Feb. 7, 1991, 91-79.
    • GU is first in the nation in scoring offense (88.6), scoring margin (21.5) and total rebounds (990), second in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.58), third in field goal percentage (50.9), rebound margin (9.5) and total assists (419).

ZAGS TARGETING 25 WINS ... AGAIN:
    - Gonzaga has won at least 25 games in each of the last 12 consecutive seasons.
    - The Zags have reached the 25-win plateau in 15 of the last 16 seasons, and 19 of the last 21.
    - Only Kansas (13), Duke (11) and GU have reached 25 wins in each of the last 11 seasons.

So here comes another game before a big game. Loyola Marymount visits the McCarthey Athletic Center on Thursday before the Zags return to the Bay Area for the second straight week for Saturday’s showdown with Saint Mary’s.

No. 2 Gonzaga (23-1, 9-0 WCC) handled the Lions 87-62 nearly four weeks ago in Los Angeles. LMU (8-15, 2-7) hasn’t defeated the Zags in a decade, a span of 22 games. It’s Gonzaga’s second-longest WCC winning streak, trailing only a 38-game unbeaten run against Pepperdine.

Much has changed since the first meeting. Killian Tillie played nearly 29 minutes and Anton Watson was off to a fast start before his left shoulder popped out of place. Five days later. the Zags announced Watson would undergo season-ending shoulder surgery.

Just heard a promo for the game. You'd think the voice over guy at CBSSN would have learned how to actually pronounce "Gonzaga" if they're going to carry the games.
My posts indicate that I don't seem to follow college basketball all that closely.

Mystified how during the short CBSSN commercial preceding our game they can call us the Zags, immediately followed by "Gon-zaw-gah" LOL

So Tillie is available. Hope they just give him some limited run and let him take it easy with that ankle for another night.

Gilder has already forced 3 or 4 turnovers with his D in about 4 minutes of play.

Arlauskis looking lost on D, if people are wondering why he doesn't play more, there you have it.
