Default Big Games On Tap This Week in the Top 25

First part of the week, including today, has been a little slow on games involving the Top 25, but tomorrow there are lots of big games involving teams just in front of or just behind the Lady Zags.

    Wednesday
Oklahoma (9-6) vs #17 West Virginia (13-1) in Morgantown, WV. @ 4:00 PM PT
#2 Baylor (13-1) vs Kansas (11-3) in Lawrence, KS. @ 5:00 PM PT

    Thursday
#4 UConn (15-2) vs UCF (9-5) in Orlando, FL. @ 3:00 PM PT
    #13 Florida State (13-1) vs #9 N.C. State (15-1) in Raleigh, NC. @ 3:00 PM PT
#24 Tennessee (13-3) vs Florida (11-6) in Gainesville, FL. @ 3:00 PM PT
    #12 Texas A&M (14-2) vs #11 Kentucky (14-2) in Lexington, KY. @ 3:30 PM PT

#16 Gonzaga (16-1) vs Santa Clara (8-8) in Santa Clara, CA. @ 6:00 PM PT

Some chances to move up if the Lady Zags take care of business.

Some more interesting games on Fri-Sun which we will look at later, but not too many games between ranked opponents. On Saturday, #17 West Virginia visits #2 Baylor, and on Sunday #3 Stanford visits #8 Oregon State

West Virginia is getting run off the floor at home by a mediocre Oklahoma team

I think @ UConn was Baylor's last test of the regular season. There's just no competition for them in the Big 12.

Big one in Eugene tomorrow. Stanford just barely gets by some games, other games they look impressive. Oregon won @ Arizona following their loss to ASU but it wasn't a huge statement game. I really have no clue what to expect in this one.

    Wow,

Oklahoma goes into Morgantown and hands #17 West Virginia their lunch 73-49. A 24-point loss at home to a mediocre Oklahoma team. Ouch.

Baylor is playing at home against what one would assume is a reasonably decent 11-3 Kansas team. Baylor leads at half 50-15. Kansas has scored 9 points in the 1st quarter and 6 points in the second quarter.

Nope, no way, I want nothing to do with Baylor anytime soon.

Kansas and Texas Tech both entered conference play undefeated, but both had abysmal SOS. Both will be losing plenty of games as the season progresses.

edited--the 2 were a combined 22-0 in OOC, now a combined 1-7 in Big 12 games a few weeks into the schedule

NC State is thumping Florida St., late in Q4. 'Noles should drop below GU if Zags take care of business. Texas A&M's best player Carter is out w/ an injury, look for them to drop some games. Down 10 in the 3rd quarter.

UConn leading UCF 54-43 w/ 1 minute left. Gone are the days of them beating everybody by 50 points.

    #4 UConn finally takes down UCF 59 - 52
    #9 NC State easily handles #13 Florida State 68 - 51
    #24 Tennessee manhandles a poor Florida team 78 - 50
#11 Kentucky downs #12 Texas A&M 76-54 with Texas A&M without their best player.

#12 and #13 ranked teams get beaten pretty handily. Maybe some room to move up if the Zags can hold serve tonight.

    More games to come.

More losses to ranked teams in front of the zags.

Unranked Northwestern (14-2) takes down #15 Indiana (14-3) in Bloomington, IN. 71 - 69 in overtime.

Don't know why NW is unranked. They have a better overall record than Indiana and the same record in conference. Maybe they see the Top-25 next week.

I think the Big 10 teams are going to continue to cannibalize each other all year. Iowa is down double digits against Minnesota midway thru Q3.

Iowa w/ a late rally to beat Minnesota 76-74. Gophers fall to 1-5 in conference. Lindsay Whalen era not looking very good. What could go wrong when you hire a HC with NO previous coaching experience, right?

Maryland pulled away from Nebraska in the 4th quarter for a 87-69 win. Was only 6 points after Q3.

Sorry for off topic, but Notre Dame SUCKS this year. Collapsed down the stretch against Duke, fell to 1-5 in ACC and 6-12 overall. My how the mighty have fallen.

Oregon is beating the crap out of Stanford. Was close for a while but they ran away in Q3. 65-48, Ionescu is going off. Just set the school career scoring record.

Oh, the battle of South Dakota should be interesting. SDSU struggled some in OOC but they've righted the ship and have been killing teams in league play. South Dakota had a good OOC. As usual this should be a battle for conference supremacy. The 2 South Dakota schools beat the snot out of the 2 North Dakota schools yesterday.

Oops. Missouri St. went on a 5-1 run to tie it up inside of 30 seconds, but Southern Illinois wins 70-68.

yeah, they were down by 7 with 6 minutes to go or so....just could not get over the hump.....

lets hope Stanford gets their act together and a few more key losses above us.....and that we keep winning...

OSU is continuing their crappy play from last Sunday. Barely leading a Cal team that everybody else has been beating up.

Cal's ineptitude rose to the forefront, they barely scored in Q2. I think Stanford will take OSU on Sunday.

After playing poorly in the first quarter, OSU seems to have found their stride outscoring Cal 20-5 in the second quarter. OSU leads at half 37-22.

Huskies putting up a little fight but not much. #18 ASU leads the Dawgs at half 30-12.

Cougs having much better luck against #21 Arizona. Arizona leads at half 35 - 32. Come on Cougs.

#7 UCLA is having a fight with USC. USC leads at the end of the first quarter 16 - 15.

UW game is 30-18. Dawgs are 5-23 from the field. Awful.

Onyenwere is out for UCLA, their best player.

Utah got red hot behind the 3 point line and blitzed Colorado in Boulder. Some of the bottom Pac 12 teams aren't good, but you can't really take any of them for granted.

Arizona is running away from Wazzu in the 2nd half.

UCLA is down 13 at halftime, only scored 2 points in Q2.

WSU cut an 18 point deficit down to 5, but too little too late. 74-67 final.

UCLA erased most of their deficit in Q3.

OSU ended up crushing Cal. I think that's more about how bad Cal is rather than OSU playing great. I still don't know how Cal beat Arkansas and stayed close w/ Kentucky and UConn. They suck.
