Why would you want that as a Gonzaga fan hoping for a one seed?

South Carolina scores 56 second-half points, nails a three at the buzzer, and down goes Kentucky, 81 - 78.

Butler loses. So, numbers 3 and 5 and 10 have gone down this week - number 9 in trouble. Number 2 Baylor only up 5 at halftime.

No worries, both teams lost tonight. IMO, it would have no bearing on the West Regional. It's going to be a tough row to hoe to get that 1 seed in Spokane.

Iowa State always seems to have a scrappy team, trying to get respect in a state tilted toward Univ of Iowa and Big 10.

Even playing Baylor tough at Baylor would be a great game for them and not a good sign for Baylor. Hangover.

If those two run the table, then it would give less opportunity to the mid-conference teams to be considered for at large bids...in the B10 conference teams are beating each other up and the committee argues that those schools are deserving of bids BUT if there are one, two or three dominant teams in a conference then the teams have little room to be argued for as at-large...I am hoping WCC gets three teams in the tournament this year and the less P5 schools with at-large bids means more for mid-majors like BYU, SMC or even SCU

Auburn within 3, 14 minutes to go.

Not much ball movement from either team. Control their dribble drive on offense, and they’re lost.

    Bama taking it to Auburn.

Meaning the only undefeated remaining is San Diego State, who will continue getting the Gonzaga treatment was they continue their undefeated season in a weak conference.

10 Kentucky (12-4) falls to South Carolina (9-7) 81-78 at the buzzer.

ESPN2 had a minute or less of Coach Cal's post game press conference. He had good things to say of the Gamecocks. He said its a good thing they got that last shot because they deserved to win. As for his team, he said something along the message of they needed to step it up and realize who they're playing. He said, (and this is a quote), "We're not playing St. Aloysius. We're playing Division 1 basketball."

Of the hundreds of names of saints, he chose St. Aloysius. A freudian slip, or an intentional slam? I don't know. I'm just asking the question.

I vote for unintentional slip. He has too much respect for Mark Few and Gonzaga.

He actually said “we weren’t playing St Aloysius. We were playing a real team, from a real Power 5 conference.”

I saw that that clip also, 'neer. In the broader context, he was discussing how his squad hasn't been able to get over the hump and get the other team down by 20 this season, among other points. The sequence starts at the 6 minute mark:

I would hope so. I feel the same way as you with regard to his respect for Mark Few and the Gonzaga Basketball program. It just caught me totally off guard.

    Thank you for your response.

Maybe Cal's getting a bit testy in his old age.
