what you mention we used to call hero D. don't know if that label still exists. symptoms include overhelping, leaving shooters open to help when not needed looking for steal or something, being late on the rotations searching steals or blocks, missing box outs going for blocks, etc.
Yes, that sounds exactly what I'm seeing. "Hero D" is perfect name for the high risk stuff I see on effort, but not basics, and I see some (less) on the offensive end.
