This team... lol. We are going to go into half tied with fricking Pepperdine.

At least Portland was making circus shots. We have just come out missing a bunch and turning it over silly style.

Second half adjustments hopefully fix things, but we need to be better in the first half.

Few needs to start digging into his team to start the 1st half hungry vs WCC players.

looks like with Watson and Tillie, Zags are switching the screen on pick and roll and Ross is ending up 1v1 with them

with Petro it's been hedge/recover with Wooly digging over the top

We managed to let Pepp - who lost to Pacific - play us to a draw at home in first half.

And it was an ugly draw, not Pepp playing out of their minds.

Pepp with 47% shooting, 3 -7 from deep for the 1st half. Sigh, we are not good defensively.

I don't watch with the eye you have, not the basketball intel to do it.

    But I can see effort.

See if agree. When bad, it is bc we play hard for the spectacular-risky play, the big steal, the big block, the big pass, or the perfect 3. We don't play hard at the block/tackle stuff, switches, blocking out, close outs. When we play hard all around, the easy stuff just leads to the other stuff.

Pepperdine pg with 15pts and 5 assists. Woolridge with zero points and 1 assist. Woolridge has been terrific all season, looks tired and bored tonight.
Our bench really helped. Scored 10 of our first 25 points.
Let’s have a better second half.

1 for 9 from the deep, but at least two of those were in and outs...

Still need to heat up from the outside if we are going to push into the lead

I think 11 of those came early before Zags got out of the M2M no help and subbed Petro off early. Then he got loose for 2 buckets late on the switch after the screen, but that looked like it was the d scheme to allow the switches as Tillie, Watson and Petro all ended up on Ross becasue of it

it could be that Few is saving Woolly for the 2nd half becasue fo all of those minutes like you said before2 nights ago. we'll see

Happy we aren't playing BYU, SMC, even Santa Clara or USF to start this WCC season.

    Whew

Unlike Portland, Pepperdine has the playmakers to hang with us

I always appreciate how you see the game Dixie as you know

personnel and scheme to me, and playng with the cards in your hand. let's see what Zags do 2nd half.

what you mention we used to call hero D. don't know if that label still exists. symptoms include overhelping, leaving shooters open to help when not needed looking for steal or something, being late on the rotations searching steals or blocks, missing box outs going for blocks, etc.
