Default GU vs Detroit Mercy - Predictions/Thoughts/What you do hope to see

Zags take on the Detroit Mercy Titans (2-10). Tallest Titan player is 6' 8"... gotta suspect that Petro, Tille and Timme are going to have a field day.

What are your expecting to see? Hoping to see? Thoughts? Predictions?

No injuries, lots of rest for the top 8 players, lots of minutes for the other guys.

The Zags taking their foot off the gas and substituting freely early in the second half will be the only thing that will keep the refs from invoking the "mercy" rule in this game.

Like to see: Zakharov & Arlauskas get a bit of run with the prime time players. Illness, injury, foul trouble will happen in WCC play. Marty & Pavel need to be able to contribute solid spot minutes when called upon. No time like now to get them some PT.

Hope to see: Further evidence that Admon & Anton are healing.

I want to see a focus on defense (switching, more turnovers, and better rim protection), and the offensive involvement of Pavel and Arlauskas.

Definitely see Few pulling his foot off the gas... but I think even the second line will have their way with them. 5+ minutes for the walk-ons

If ANY starter logs over 30+ mins, I'll be bummed.

When up 30-40, with 3-4 mins remaining, and starting lineup is in, or even guys nursing injuries, I'm pulling my hair out

Any team that Calipari's son is getting playing time on has to be terrible. The coach must have owed Coach Cal a real big favor.

I pray no injuries, especially against a team like this.

I would be highly tempted if I were Few to sit Tillie and Watson, let them get some extra rest on those chronic injuries.

And as soon as the lead got to 30, I would have the bottom 5 scholia players in.

Worst outcome is an injury in this game.

I would like to see ZaKhorav get some meaningful minutes. He looks like he has some promise, so why not give him about 15 minutes. This is the type of team that he could build his confidence against. I mean little Calipari is the 3rd leading scorer, come on man ? The only player they have is Davis' son who is a pretty good player.

Exactly. Up until now, Marty and Pavel have gotten only garbage time minutes. That needs to change. Coach Few cannot continue to use that 7 man rotation; the starters are going to need rest. This is the perfect game to show what Marty and Pavel can do.
