This was really neat to hear.....thank you for sharing.
This was such an impressive victory by the Zags! These players are very special people and they represent our university with so much class. Obviously, their parents are to be commended for raising such outstanding young men.
Over at The Athletic, GU stringer Jackson Frank writes:
and includes this quote from Coach Few:So, yeah, these Bulldogs are damn good and their recent stretch of dominance over fellow West Coast teams has them eyeing a crown that stretches further than from Washington to Arizona.
“I like the ‘Best in the West’ but I would add ‘Best in the West — and in the country,’ ” Filip Petrusev says. “We showed we can play against anybody, we can beat anybody.”
LINK: https://theathletic.com/1472582/2019...contender-yet/“They’re a resilient bunch,” Few says. “I’ll tell ya, to do what we did in these three weeks against those opponents, most of it away from home and then, the one at home, with a lot of build-up and a lot of hype, shows some real mental toughness and real fortitude to figure out ways to get it done. Because the games were played out in a variety of ways and a variety of styles.”
Seth Greenberg commented earlier in the week that GU seems to have the ability to play whatever style or tempo their opponent tries and beat them at it. He said it is a real luxury to be so indifferent to what an opponent wants to do and dominate them at what ever style they pick.
'I found it is the small everyday deeds of ordinary folk that keep the darkness at bay… small acts of kindness and love.'

Love that quote from Few about mental toughness, bc physically this team hasn't even reached near its peak IMO. But the mental toughness is prolly more important.
Coach Williams is a very gracious man. It must hurt to have his team hurting so much. Yet nothing but positive about GU and trip.
Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect.

From Chapelborough.com
"Even with Anthony in the lineup, UNC has struggled to find any kind of success offensively. Although there won’t be many games tougher than this one over the next few weeks while he recovers, it’s not a stretch of the imagination to say that the Tar Heels will have to grind especially hard for any win they manage to get during this period."

https://goheels.com/news/2019/12/18/...t-gonzaga.aspx
"North Carolina also played the second half without Brandon Robinson, who was feeling ill. He played 16 minutes of the first half and didn't score.
Having Anthony and a completely healthy roster might not have mattered.
Kispert and the Zags were ready from the start to put on a show for maybe the toughest ticket in school history. Kispert was nearly perfect in the first half, hitting 6 of 8 shots including a trio of 3-pointers. It was his fourth straight game in double-figures after being quieted by Michigan."
From ESPN: Can the Zags run the table ?
LINK: https://www.espn.com/mens-college-ba...oing-run-table
John Gasaway, college basketball writer: It will be tough. Gonzaga has run the table in both WCC regular-season play and the conference tournament four times in 20 years under Few. That alone is incredible, of course, but the Bulldogs are currently 0-for-6 on that front since 2013, despite earning two NCAA tournament No. 1 seeds in the past three seasons. The bottom line is that running the table is really hard even for a top seed -- plus, there's more than Saint Mary's to worry about if you're a Zags fan. BYU looks much improved this season. Throw in my concern that no rotation player not named Corey Kispert shoots better than 70% at the line, and it says here that the Zags will arrive at Selection Sunday sporting a 30-3 record. Yes, I'd take that in a heartbeat for my team.
