I think this is a worse free throw issue than a few of the UW teams under Romar...and that was pretty bad.

Simply zero excuse for poor FT shooting. Lackadaisical, sloppy disregard for the result or consequences. It will cost them a game; hope it’s before the national tournament.

FP may have a shot at the NBA for all reasons except his free throw skills. He will be the next Hack a Filip if he doesn't work on this part of his game. He will improve, but now is the time.

You never want to see a team beat themselves. I think that missing free throws is one of those ways. There’s a lot of woulda coulda shoulda when you lose and free throws would have put you over the top.

In the post game radio thread it said Ammo told Petrochev that he was shooting his free throws oddly.. they are coming off his hand and gave him a tutorial. hope he listens. Coach should ask Raivio to come in and give them a group lesson! He was the best I think that would benefit all and then PRACTICE them. Muscle memory..

Heck, I was a 65% foul shooter over 3 years in high school and had zero-point-zero-zero coaching instruction whatsoever. Granted it was in front of maybe 200 fans, but still. Some of the Zag FT misses are glancing off the sides of the rim. No excuse for what we are witnessing this season from the "charity stripe". Having said that, UCLA barely made 50% of their FT's last night against the Huskies and eked out the 2-pt upset, thanks largely to a ton of offensive boards and 3 point makes. Without improvement, the best defense against the Zags may be getting them to the stripe early and often. We gotta shore this up now.

Unhappy Good job by Filip @ LMU

Petrusev is going to collect his share of fouls as the season rolls along.

It was great to see him go 8 - 11 this afternoon.

    Team shot 17 - 27, 63%

Rest of the squad's numbers are here: https://gozags.com/sports/mens-baske.../boxscore/7199

makes me wonder if free throw shooting for the team, and detailed attention to our lowest percentage free throw shooters, may have happened (more than usual) in recent weeks
    we may never know,
but if someone knows a player, the player would certainly know

The key to shooter better % from the free-throw line is Petrusev, and lately his foul shooting has really improved. Congrats.
Earlier in the year there was concern about Woolridge's foul shooting but he seems to have really figured that out. He's shooting pretty well from the line now. I would say the same about Ayayi.

I think we're going to be okay.

The Missouri Tigers have made 53 consecutive free throws. That is hard to believe.

    Ncaa record.

As I write this they just missed second FT that would have tied game. 54 straight. Still amazing. Sorry for the jinx.

It's funny, because all the announcers do is compliment the "releases" of Petrusev and Woolridge.

Both of those guys have got to get their numbers up. Petrusev is a Wooden Award candidate, and Woolridge is the team's PG, an adept ballhandler and very likely to get fouled during end of game situations. And he doesn't have a "real" PG backup.
