I like Walton, but during the 1st half his on and on and on stories of the great Bill Russel were tiresome at best. During that 5 minute stretch, there hardly was a mention of what was taking place right in front of his eyes.

I don't usually like Bill's commentary but he was classic tonight. He does his research and he does know basketball. I loved the segue to Danny Ainge's golf score from Lunardis fluid predictions.

Walton spends more time talking about other subjects that pop into his head and really does an injustice to the players on the floor who make some great plays but get no commentary because of Bill. Not a fan. I will not listen to him announce a game again.

My sister tweeted his WIFE and asked her if she could shut him up. He is so incredibly awful. People tuning in want to WATCH the GAME and hopefully get some insight not have the screen on him while he blathers on about Jim Morrison's grave and name drops players from 50 years ago. My husband asked if we were on the history channel. I'm sure he's a great guy in person but he is the WORST ever as an announcer.

Anyone know if he ended up seeing the Grateful Dead at the Gorge with Mark Few Summer 2019? I thought he mentioned those plans in a Zag game he was doing last year. Agree with those who point out he puts himself above the action in the game.

Living in Georgia I get excited when the Zags are on national TV so I can watch in the comfort of my theater room instead of at my computer desk.....and then they throw Bill Walton in there!!!! The guy was an amazingly good basketball player and an amazingly BAD announcer!! WHY does nobody on the network understand this? IMO the best announcers are like the best referees, after the game is over you don't even remember who they were!!! It SHOULD be about the game!!!!

I submitted a written comment to ESPN about a year ago on just what I thought about Walton's "performance" doing Zag games (any game for that matter). ESPN thanked me for my input and explained how Walton has a large following of viewers that admire his "work" and that, while he doesn't appeal to everyone, there are enough that he does appeal to to justify his continued employment with ESPN. My opinion on Walton: Great basketball player, horrible announcer. I've learned to tune out his voice over the years. I would encourage any of you readers of this to contact ESPN (you can comment online on their website) and voice your opinion of Walton. If they could confine him to doing only Mountain West conference games, that would be a start!
