Why am I yelling YES after every BYU bucket? Oh yeah, they are a WCC team playing UCLA, with Bill Walton on the call.

Very surprising watching BYU just keep pulling away from UCLA. Maybe they are the little engine that could (Beat Kansas).

I think his knee injury is too serious to play this year. I was wondering last night if he might be granted a medical redshirt?

He could then return as a RS sophomore who would turn 24 during the season.

    ------------------

It impressive (or depressing for UCLA fans) to see that BYU actually nearly matched UCLA on the boards (26 to 28) despite basically having no post players and far inferior athletes.
That game was a textbook example of a far less athletic and smaller team playing far more cohesive and effortful basketball.

I don't think they grant "Medical Redshirt" status until you have exhausted your regular eligibility and petition the NCAA for an extra year.

2 straight double digit losses to unranked teams for UCLA. Is the honeymoon over already for Mick?

Poor Izzo, crying over the loss, apologizing to the fat cat Sparty alums on the trip. He offered no excuses by making many excuses. What a whiner. And about that MSU sports doc, uh-oh, more tears.

Michigan State coach Tom Izzo took ownership for the third-ranked Spartans' five-point upset loss in the Maui Invitational.

"I publicly want to apologize to maybe the greatest fan group that was here," Izzo said after Monday's loss in Hawai'i. "I feel like I let them down, and it's been an interesting couple of weeks and we just weren't as sharp today."

Michigan State lost 71-66 to unranked Virginia Tech to fall to 3-2 on the season.

"Well, I've said this for 20 years. Upsets happen," Izzo said. "And that's no insult to them, but it is an upset. Upsets happen."

Pasch & Walton aren't any easier to listen to sober than they are after I've had a pop. . .sheesh.

Well Walton loves him (& made his disdain for Alford apparent).

Since Saint John there have only been two types of coaches at UCLA....those that have been fired and …..those that are going to be fired...

The should have given a 100 million dollar ten year contract and membership to Riviera to Brad Stevens or Tony Bennett … if they want to be relevant again...

Anthony Edwards ( Georgia ) is on fire. . .had one of the best dimes I have ever seen in transition. If it isn't a SportsCenter Top 10 Play today, I don't know what is.

You are so right no team wants to go up against Jay in the post season! BYU beat Houston and UCLA & USF hasn't played anyone but they are 7-0. I'm a day late but that's got to help out the league a little?

Dayton is nuts. Haven’t paid attention much to them, but they look great tonight.

if BYU can win, it can help change those Zag matchups later this season from games that can only hurt the Zags if they lose while not really helping them if they win, to games that can be quality wins and not as damaging the other way. can't believe I'm saying this but...go BYU, and doesn't hurt they're matched up against KU

Really impressed with the Flyers. Solid defense the entire game. Looks like they are in tune with each other on both ends.
