Is ASU that bad, or is St Mary's that good?
I hope the latter, as now the UNC game is behind them I would love to see Zags with some good in-conference competition.

By my count WCC is only 9-12 versus PAC-12 this year.

I think SMC and BYU will both be tough, both could end up NCAA tourney teams.

I hope so! Would be great to see both BYU and SMC end up in the tourney this year.
Plus it would enliven the part of the schedule I (and I suspect I'm not alone) least enjoy -- now to March.

Name is Alonzo Verge, 6'3" and 167 lbs., averages 9.6 pts pg. Jr. There's got to be some backstory on this performance by ASU, I mean what the hell! They got massacred by the Gaels. ASU beat USF Dons by 4 just 2 weeks ago, then lose by 40 to St Marys?!?

EDIT: Here's a quote of a post left by an ASU "fan" on Yahoo Sports site:
I'M DONE ! I can't watch ASU basketball anymore. 3 years now and not 1 player that can consistently shoot from outside of 4 ft. Bobby Hurley you may want to get a shooting coach because it is blatantly obvious you are not one. Uninspired lackadaisical and undisciplined are th only words i can find to describe this team over the last 4 years. I'm done.

utah also better than expected and improving rapidly...watched them beat byu in OT...that was with yoeli back, though he got injured and missed last 5 minutes + overtime.

their freshman pg is like a mini-pangos...solid and can really shoot the 3. they also have a difficult matchup in allen, one of those too big for guards and too good off the dribble for bigs guys...like a collinsworth for byu...not as good a passer but better offensively. not sure either tillie or kispert could guard him...he's a guy you need watson for. that's what made last year's team special...rui and clarke could guard just about anyone.

Why don't we regularly schedule them?

90 minute flight, great atmosphere in both places, would nearly always be a quality game.

It makes no sense at all to never really even sniffed at it. We've played Utah State, Utah Valley, but not Utah?

Yes, our home schedule was weak this year. But it's not like we didn't go out and play people. UW, Arizona? Western teams.

Utah seems like a total natural as one of those "test" games we do in early Dec.

Coach K is a classier act (IMO) than the other coach K. Utah is a great arena (seen so many NCAA games there back in the day), SLC great city, airport is 15 mins from campus, it's all just perfect.

I don't get it and hope they will consider it down the road.

Yes, Larry K is tremendous person. Son now on team at Dartmouth, btw. Great family. But who would Utah displace? They don’t have the buzz of a Zona, UNC, even the Dub. So dilemma. Do they supplant a cuppy cake? Wouldn’t Wazzu be a better candidate for that role?

Duke wins easily. Seton Hall upsets Maryland

UTA and Detroit Mercy continue their losing ways.

NC State and Auburn are tied with about 3:00 to go, 1H, 33-33
