    Default Other Games - Friday - 01. 10. 20

Only 11 games on tap today

    Top 25

    #12 Maryland @ Iowa . 4:00pm. FS1
    #6 Butler @ Providence 6:00pm . FS1

Providence has won 4 straight , the latest being road wins at DePaul and Marquette. They might give Butler a pretty good tussle.

He recently said in his podcast "I'm so sick of hearing about Gonzaga. Mark Few is a good guy and all, but they would be 5th or 6th in the big 10"

He declined to name the 4 or 5 teams better. He was never asked.

So many claims people make simply fall apart when asked for a simple specific. (for whatever it's worth I think we'd be 2nd or 3rd, right in there with MSU and tOSU)

I watched 5 minutes early and the play on both sides was just UGLY.

If you could combine the 2 teams (or really just combine Ford, Childs, Toolson, and Fitts) you'd have some decent basketball played - still not much defense.

I never could figure out why Friday nights are so quiet for CBB these days. You'd think at the end of the school week, everybody would be pumped for a Friday evening game. Makes no sense to me. I remember plenty of Zag games on Friday nights as a student (not to mention the post-game house parties behind Madonna or up Sharp/Mission and beyond, even inside C/M dorms a.k.a. "The Zoo"). Maybe it's a travel issue.... I dunno.

He really is a moron. You can't fix stupid. Sure seems like we've beaten Ohio State, Northwestern, Illinois, Iowa...over the last few years.

Every UW loss helps GU! I hope that the miss the tournament. We win the rest of our games and we are the #1 seed in the west. I want Banchero to see them in the NIT, and us in the final 4

We beat tOSU twice the year his son was on the team, and that was the worst Zag team in the last 4 years. (maybe 5 depending on how this one goes)

    Yoeli Childs averaging 21 & 10.

BYU without Childs AT SMC. Took them to OT.

How good could BYU be IF they had Childs first nine games, which they lost three of them.

    BYU legit

I think it could be ratings. ESPN, FS1, and the rest probably think that no one is home on Friday nights anymore. The Pac-12 (10) has played on Thursdays and Saturdays for ages, and the WCC is following their lead.

Just as college football tends to avoid Fridays (for high school football) I suspect CBB has trended away from Fridays in deference to HS basketball and then there's a need for travel days for conferences like the WCC.

As I do these "Other Game" threads, Weds & Fridays seem to be the least populated days as far as quantity of games.

Ohio State loses it's 4th in a row, 2- 5 in their last 7 games. The Buckeyes haven't reached 60 points in any of the 4 straight defeats.

    Indiana now 13 - 3 after the 66-54 victory

Baylor guards Teague, Mitchell, and Butler combined for 48 points, 13 rebounds in the Bears 67 -53 win @ Kansas.

KU's home winning streak ends at 28.

    Bears looked poised and prepared.

MBB Writer Jeff Goodman (via twitter):

Baylor should be No. 1 on Monday without ANY debate.

Wins: Kansas (road), Butler (home), Villanova (neutral), Texas Tech (road), Arizona (home) - all in AP Top 25

Gonzaga wins: Oregon (neutral), Arizona (road)

Duke wins: Kansas (neutral), Michigan St (road)
    Loss: Stephen F.
Baylor lost to Washington, so I think there's plenty of room for debate, FWIW

But they’ll still be highly rated. $7 million salaries have benefits. Add how’s d-head Dakich taking it?

Screw Goodman. He’s a closet Zag disliker, imo.
