if Ryan can make at least some of the open looks, at least some of his finishes in the paint, that will be big as teams will dare him.

    I confused them.

    Thanks.
Awesome - I'm right there with you in regards to respect and admiration for Texas Southern. They've been on their OOC gauntlet schedule for a few years now, and they have some NCAA tournament appearances and NCAA tourney wins to show for it!

..I just don't know about relying on a player, especially a ball handler, who can't hit 60% of his free throws....the Zags will lose some key games because of this....

Have they given an update on Watson? I would think that if he is to be out for a long time that Few would be working in Zakharov and/or Arlauskas ...can't go into these next games with only 7 players

    Are we any different?

Used to be we'd have 8 pages in the game thread even against a cupcake like this.

I am not saying it is right or wrong, but the entitlement thing isn't limited to students. I'm just as guilty. I admit I didn't even know the game was today.

Part of that is scheduling this year is very weak at home and there's no papering over it. Part of it is entitlement and just figuring we're going to win big.

Timme isn't the one and done most dream about. I believe after a couple seasons he's going to be one of the most cherished Zags we've seen. True workhorse giving 110 % every game. He's a true freshman that ha contributed in every game. He's going to be a stud after a off session at G.U. hitting the weights.

He is not wearing a boot but "got some shots up" (stiffly) in warmups. Given that, it's hard to imagine him contributing vs UW, UNC, or Arizona. Maybe though?

Gilder should not be in the game right now. Clearly favouring his leg.

I love Few but one thing I hate is he has clearly started to overemphasize advanced stats to the point of detriment. (eg. destroying bad teams by a lot helps your advanced analytics) Gonzaga has brand name recognition now. Throw in some walk ons if you need to but a 25 point or a 35 point win isn't going to matter at the end of the day. Preserving these kids' health for the games that matter does.

I'm trying to figure out why Gilder is playing. He's not needed to win.

I'm assuming his injury (he's obviously still hurt) is not something that is made worse by playing. Staff wouldn't let him play if he could make it worse right?

Maybe Few wants him in to work on chemistry? Trying to help with his confidence? Maybe Gilder is just demanding to play?

I hope we get some insight after the game because the risk/reward of him playing seems way off with big games coming up.

Anyone else notice all of Gilder's 3s (and many of our misses in general) are just short and hit the middle of the front of the rim?

If there was a little more lift or oomph, they'd find the range. It made sense in the Michigan game for a tired team to shoot a bunch of short 3s, but it seems like it have been 80% of our misses (and all of Gilder's) tonight.
