Smile The Joey Brackets Thread - 12/16 Update

Not sure the Zags deserve the boost upwards at this point. Joey & the Basketball World will know for sure at week's end when the Zags tangle with So. Mississippi (the weakest team in Battle4Atlantis Tournament) then Oregon or Seton Hall, then another quality team.

    Here's hoping we're really 2-Seed good.

Interesting for the WCC is that Joey has Wisconsin as an 8-Seed, which's a great boost to Saint Mary's.

Healthy, yes. Looked like Admon was still not 100%. His shooting/defense is a big deal in the upcoming AZ & UNC games (especially). Here's hoping the several days off prior to going to Arizona is what the doctor ordered for his full recovery. (If the Zags take care of biz v. AZ & UNC, Kiddwell has silly notions of us ascending to No. 1 in rankings and a No. 1 Seed come March Madness.)

We will play 3 of the 4 PAC12 teams projected to be in the tournament. So far the scheduling is holding out. The PAC12 teams we are playing are all the top teams in their conference.

We win the next two and we'll be a no 1 by Jan/Feb. This is turning into a much better team than predicted. Three things have happened....Filip has improved, Tillie is actually healthy and playing well and Ayayi is off scale better Woolridge is better tan predicted as well. I also think the best is yet to come with our two frosh. We'll see. Watson will soar as soon as soon as he's well.

Well said, Abe. I saw Anton's struggles against UW due to the after effects of his injury, as well as paying some "tuition" that nearly every freshman pays. The Huskies are a very athletic team, and created a lot of problems for us.

The basketball IQ of our team is off the charts. They struggled early against the zone, but made some great adjustments, such as putting Killie at the point. Their unselfishness and ability to pass the rock led to quite a few easy baskets.

That would be a exciting " honeymoon" for Pope and BYU and they are starting to show some promise...….can't help but root for him and them..

Even more important than getting that number one seed is being able to play the first two games in Spokane Arena. That is almost a free pass to the sweet 16 in Los Angeles. The Zags have never been in a position to take advantage of the Spokane Arena advantage. Barring a complete collapse, it looks as though they might catch a break this tournament. That's HUGE. Especially if they do get a number one. It's helps with avoiding the 8/9 upset.

When the NCAA disregarded those Syracuse losses (9), when their head coach was suspended then the NCAA should also disregard those BYU's losses because Childs was punished suspended for something so darn stupid...they are going to be a tough out in conference regardless of game location...

Why? GU is better than FSU and should handle them should they meet, just like last year. People were super worried last year and GU won with the game never really in doubt.

I believe we've played them 3 times in NCAA Tourney, including the last 2 seasons, yet feels like we are projected to play them every season.

Speaking of, which team have we played/faced the most in the NCAA Tourney since '99?

Off top of my head, we have played Xavier, Tech Tech, Indiana, Syracuse at least twice.

We have played FSU & Ohio St 3 times I believe...

    Any others?

We faced then in 1st Rd a few yrs back too.

Maybe Ohio St only twice come think of it...
