Default GU vs Southern Miss - Predictions/Thoughts/What you do hope to see

The Golden Eagles are next up for the Zags as they start the Battle for Atlantis on Wednesday. Southern Miss comes in with a record of 1-3... and the one win was against a non-D1 school.

One positive is "The W" is out of the mix until December.

What are you expecting to see on Wednesday? What are you hoping to see? Thoughts? Predictions?

I hope to see the game on an actual television with no streaming issues. Oh wait, it's on ESPNU, so I can! How did I get so lucky?

With the way the defense is holding teams down far more than I expected, I'm going to start adjusting my picks.

    Zags by 33: 84-51

This game will be another practice session where a lot of players get a chance to play. This will be a three tournament; so Few will not want to burn anyone out the first day.

I'd like to see better free-throw shooting, and think we will. I'd also like to see better 3 point shooting by our guards. I hope Kispert finds his touch. I like what I saw the last game in terms of better passing, and better shot selection. Just hoping to see those two things: better outside shooting by guards and better free-throw shooting.

Smile Early Bliss, Is to Beat So. Miss.

Hope the toughie against UT-Arlington sufficiently toughened up Zags for either Oregon or Seton Hall. (Of course, first gotta take care of biz vs. Southern Miss.) Wonder if Oregon can squeeze up into the Top-10 in Monday's new rankings.

If the Zags win on Wednesday, they play at 1 pm (Pacific) on Thursday. Since that's less than 24 hours between games, look for Coach Mark to use the bench heavily. We can't afford to have tired guys if we play Oregon.

Make your D*** Free throws: At this point, opposition game plan may be to put us at the line early and often, if they have the depth to withstand it. Hope to see some 3/4 court press from the Zags, with Watty and Wooly (or Ayayi) putting their wingspans to good use (not that we'll really need to press).

A blowout win for sure....but We need to see Kispert turn things around. He needs to be confident in the big games.

Zags are heading toward a "correction"... but this won't be that game.
