The editor must also have the day off. Check out the "Game scores" column.

ESPN still hasn’t updated the WCC standings to show BYU’s loss to SDSU.

ESPN is as slow as molasses to update their standings. I always use CBSsports.com.

Here's a link that shows how the AP Poll Voters ranked Gonzaga for Week 3

Fair number of pollsters show the Zags in the 6, 7, or 8 hole. . .

Let's hope they're batting leadoff somewhere down the road.

Don't think they drop that much, honestly. #3 Sparty, #1 Duke, #11 Oregon, #13 Seton Hall, #12 Texas Tech, #6 UNC, #11 Oregon again, #12 Texas Tech again, #15 Utah State, #17 Tennessee, #20 VCU twice all lost. #14 Arizona has one more game tonight.

Then you consider their loss was to a team that probably should have been ranked and has proven they're top 10 material, I have a hard time seeing our Zags drop very far from #8. I think maybe #11 at worst, but still top 10.

Good points all Reno! Considering those other losses, I’d guess Top 10 and likely #8 is maintained. We rise later but we need those wins on the big 3 we have coming up this month.’

Default Week 5-- Reborn Nails it: #9

Louisville is the latest No. 1 following an unexpected loss by Duke. Michigan has matched a record by debuting at No. 4.

A season of parity is taking a toll in the AP Top 25.

Louisville became the fourth team in five weeks to claim the top spot, receiving 48 of 65 first-place votes from a media panel in The Associated Press men’s basketball poll released Monday.

No. 2 Kansas, coming off the Maui Invitational title, had three first-place votes and No. 5 Virginia received five. Maryland rose to No. 3 in a week when every spot in the poll changed from last week.

Michigan (7-0) knocked off Iowa State, No. 7 North Carolina and No. 9 Gonzaga to win the Battle 4 Atlantis title in the Bahamas. The Wolverines were rewarded with nine first-place votes and matched Kansas in 1989 for the biggest jump from being unranked in the history of the poll that dates to 1949.

Not a bad first season under former Michigan star Juwan Howard.

“I’m sure we’re on the map now,” Howard said. “A lot of teams are looking and seeing Michigan as a name that’s out there. When you beat teams like Creighton and Iowa State as well as North Carolina and Gonzaga, you’re no longer under the radar.”

Louisville wasn’t exactly under the radar after opening the preseason poll at No. 5. The Cardinals (7-0) made a steady climb to No. 2 and moved to the top spot when previous No. 1 Duke lost at home to Stephen F. Austin. Duke dropped to No. 10 after its 150-game home winning streak against nonconference opponents ended in Durham.

Louisville has its first No. 1 ranking in six years after beating Akron and Western Kentucky last week.

Props to Michigan with an impressive, and well-deserved place in the polls. I expected Howard to be a dud, but he's proving he can coach.

I actually am entertained watching what some of these NBA players turned college coaches are doing. Patrick Ewing seems to have the Hoyas headed in the right direction; despite his recruiting missteps, Penny Hardaway is showing to be a competent head coach; and now Juwan Howard has made a big splash. It will be interesting to watch how they progress.

I know it's still early December and these things don't mean much yet, but sheesh........................how can the ZAGS be ranked below Kentucky and barely above Puke. Those two have two of the worst OOC losses in NCAA history this year (on par with Virginia and Chaminade back in the Ralph Sampson era) and they're both still in the Top 10.

    WOW, just WOW...................

OTOH, Michigan is good!! Props to Juwan Howard for getting those guys to by in so early in the season.

    Go ZAGS
