Default GU Message Board Spokane Get Together

    Hello everyone,

I had a conversation with a couple other board members about having a GU Message Board get together. We thought it would be a lot of fun and we thought November 8th would be a great time following the start of the season.

We have an idea for a place but I thought I would open up a dialogue and ask if anyone owns a bar or has some connections for a place we may be able to hold the event.

Hopefully people are interested and can come hang out for a bit. Feel free to private message me or post in the thread about ideas. I will post final details as I get feedback from folks.

Hopefully mods can keep this in this section so everyone can see the information.

    Than you!!

We could use David's Pizza across the street south of the Arena.

    - unless beer is an absolute necessity, one option is to watch any game on a movie screen...for FREE.
    - the past two years village centre cinemas at wandemere, at 12622 n division, has been showing all Gonzaga men's basketball games.......and yes for free. concessions at cost of course.

    - for coug fan's, they are doing the same for all football games this season.

I’m in ...... Is Jack & Dan’s in the mix for a location? Numbers of attendees could be an issue for a location.

Sounds like it could be fun.

Nov 8 there is no game, and it would be better with beer.

There just was such a gathering, when Long Island Zag Fan came to town. We met at NoLi and had a great time. Only 4 showed up.

I will certainly try to make it but, for me, it is a work night. Keep us informed and I can try to make plans that allow it.

My preference is on the North side of the river, the farther north the better (I live in Deer Park).

I'm sure The Swinging Doors would be amenable to host such an event and with notice reserve space...

Can someone design cute hats, like the Burger King crown, printable on a home PC, so we can identify each person as part of the Board Gang?

Also, bumping this up for further visibility and perusal.

I'm monitoring this thread. Just might take the trip to Spokane.

Should probably put an identifying place mark on the tables.

I am getting lots of great ideas from folks so I think I will add a survey and let people vote. Only vote if you are planning on going and that way we will know how many people plan on attending. Then I will make the arrangements.

I’m thinking start time of 6pm. Does that work for most people?

Sorry. Lol. I voted, even though I'm in Missouri and obviously can't attend. I probably should have stayed out of it.

Cool that you guys are going to try and get together though! Take/post some pictures!

    - went with swinging doors, but jack and dan's would get my second vote.

    - not sure when we plan to meet, but I might be out of town the first go around.

    - i'll keep myself posted thru this post.

Went with Hotel Ruby (Ruby River Hotel?) as my SO works for the organization, but any would be fine. The local would take back seat to the company.

    Go ZAGS!
