Looking forward to any info. Tillie posted something about being in Denver, wish he was playing.

I can't comment on the veracity of the reporting, but a MSU poster claimed the teams already played this morning, and MSU won by 45.

Where did they play? The Pepsi Center? And why would they play so early in the morning?

Grain of salt... another post said the game isn't until 10/27.

ETA: Never mind. That appears to be the date of last year's scrimmage. Probably need to peruse Twitter today to see if anything comes out... Today looks like the day.

    I am highly skeptical.

    I expect to get beat.

    By 45?

Even without Tillie and even with all the Frosh, that score is so lopsided it mirrors the 2017 team's victories over sub 250 RPI teams.

Not credible from my point of view. And, it seems ridiculous they'd go all that way to make a serious effort at getting better, yet play in the morning.

    Just skeptical.

Isn’t part of the reason for Denver a neutral site and an earlier hour per possible NCAA location? Agree on the 45, though. This might be the year to refute results of scrimmages.

They probably meant to say that Brock Ravet scored 45

Don’t believe what you read on the internet. I don’t know that poster but I know he is wrong lol.

Twitter's "search" function is a pretty handy tool.

Frequent forum participant 'MileHigh' lives/coaches in Denver. He might have some first or second hand info to share. For all we know MSU played various weird lineups or strange defenses. I think the takeaway is that it's time to get excited for the season, and we'll be at least able to hang with anyone on our best days.

I think this is a fair assessment. I presume MSU played without Langford (although I am not certain of this) and we assuredly played without our best player in Tillie. I can’t stipulate as to MSU using “weird lineups” etc and it certainly is a game implemented to experiment and see how players perform. With that being said, this was a 40min game with referees etc., unlike some scrimmages which include extra stoppages, half court work, etc. Regardless, we did really well against a top team in America without or best player. There will be growing pains but it should be another fun season.

    Thanks Zagblue!

Here's hoping Tillie is healing up well.

If accurate this is really exciting news but of course we have no idea how many stops of action, coaching on the floor and so on took place. Hardly a real game if so. But if true our guys can score.

Kispert must really match up well against MSU. Pretty sure he was leading scorer last year too.

    - seems both teams were focused on offense
    - score indicates not much defense exhibited........which I think is kind of typical in scrimmage games, nobody want to risk an injury for a game that really, really, means nothing..........but a learning opportunity.
    - that said, I'm stoked by the result!

Tillie is healing just fine. He should be ready to go unless something unforeseen happens.

Meehan echoes Goodman without the details:

No official stats available, but Filip Petrusev and Admon Gilder scored in double figures, followed by Drew Timme. Strong performance at both ends of the floor by Ryan Woolridge and on the glass by Anton Watson.

    Watson with 15 boards?

Against a top Big 10 team?

That's a pretty impressive performance. I assume Michigan State tried.

Sounds like we're going to be okay for bigs this year.

Caught wind of a couple additional tidbits.

They played 2 20 minute halves ... yet reset everything for the 2nd half. IOW ... 2 20 minute "games".

GU won the first half 44-37 and won the 2nd half 59-50.

Admon Gilder was a star on both ends of the court.
