Default Super Strong Start to the season for Gonzaga Cross Country

    https://gozags.com/news/2019/9/13/cr...spx?path=cross

The Menís A Team won the race but our Unattached younger runners who are under consideration for red shirts have them a run for the money and finished second, AHEAD of Washington State!!

James Mwaura repeats as the individual winner for the Zags.

Iím just going to predict right now, our men are going to Nationals for the first time ever to cap off the fall!!

Super exciting. When do you suspect they’ll make the redshirt decision.

BYU is so strong, and Portland is always tough (this year won’t be an exception). What are the prospects of shaking up the top two in your opinion, Former?

Beating either of these teams is, IMHO, much harder than making it to nationals. Both are regularly contenders to win it all.

I would say our best chance would be to take out Portland at the conference meet if Rob Conner decides to get cute again and de emphasize conference in favor of resting his big dogs for Regionals. It was an effective strategy for him 2 seasons ago, so I could see him do it again.

Of course, we could always catch lightning in a bottle and have 5 guys run out of their minds on the day and have a legitimate upset!
