Good Listen ZN. I think he was a little short on the potential number of units that the WCC missed out on this year. I think you get one unit for each game you play so if the zags make the elite 8 (4 units), BYU wins 2 (3 units), SMC wins at least 1 (2 units) that would be 9 units @ $300,000 per unit for 6 years. OUCH! (I should have listened to the end as Larry agrees with me that Meehan was a bit conservative)

Also, eta, regarding the spring sport athletes. There are not too many baseball players on full scholarship. I think GU has 14 for baseball and I'm not sure that they are increasing the scholarship limits.

Baseball gets 11.7 scholarships, so usually scholarships are partials. Same with most sports.

This article explains it well. Everybody is the same class next year as they were this year. The hard part is now you have 2 freshmen classes.

Coach Giac starts at 11:00. Good stuff.

Didn't realize that his St. Louis team & Leon's Boise St. team will both be in the Orlando Tourney with the Zag's.

Agree, ouch! Re: scholarships; perspective is that most sports do not even generate net operating revenue, without including scholarships. Those that do effectively subsidize non-revenue athletics.

I was listening to The Press Box from last week and Steven Karr from TSSF was on. They were talking about GU playing USC this season. I know Dom Harris commented on it during an interview, but is anything official? I havent seen a definitive announcement yet. Anybody know anything?
