So what do you expect to see at tomorrow's game between O'Dea and Garfield? These two teams
are certainly very familiar with each other...

Coach Roy wins games. 3 appearances at State during his 3 season as a head coach, got to the Title Game all 3 times. His first 2 teams were stacked but I don't think this Garfield team is quite the All Star group of transfers like he's had before.

But of course it's hard to bet against the defending champs w/ the best player in the state.

3A was the Metro Invitational this year. All 4 teams in the semis.

Weak side doubles on Banchero whenever he touches it
Odea shooters need to have decent night to counter

Garfield has the length and quickness to guard Hickman fro east side but Odea brings two bigs to the table creating issues for Garfield if they elect to double panchero

Garfield will also need to continue their hot shooting

68-60 Odea gets back to back titles

Championships for 3A and 4A used to always be shown on ROOT Sports. Not this year. Lost money doing it, opted not to continue. No idea if it's streaming anywhere.

This evening, Garfield defeated O'Dea 69-44 in the 3A Boys State Tournament Championship game.
Garfield outscored O'Dea in each quarter of the game. In this final game of the season, Paolo Banchero
led the Fighting Irish in scoring with 16 points.

It'll be interesting to see if COVID-19 changes his plans or pushes the dates back. Hopefully not. He is slated to travel to Italy in June to try out for the national team (eligible through his dad) and help them try to qualify for the Olympics.

Would that disqualify him from ever playing for team USA?

No, he'll be able to play for Team USA should he make it to that level.

and why do you say that?

facts suggest otherwise...look for him in June, to travel Italy work out in the Italian Basketball Federation’s training camp.then on to Serbia later that month to play in a tournament to help qualify Italy for one of the final four slots in the Tokyo Olympic Games, which begin in July.

I think that he's referring to the corona situation.

He can probably travel there just fine. It's getting back that will be a challenge.

It's not quite that simple. From what I understand if you play under one flag you can't play under another unless the first country agrees to it. Italy would have to give Paolo permission to play for Team USA for that to happen. It doesn't come up very often but I remember that being a thing for Nick Fazekas. He played youth tourneys for Team USA (U-19 maybe?) and then Team USA had to give authorization for him to play with Rui for Team Japan last year when he took the naturalized citizen roster spot from Ira Brown.

2021 Paolo Banchero wins @Gatorade State POY. He has won just about every award a player can possibly win in their own state throughout his career. @Pp_doesit

I would not be surprised in the least to see Banchero move up to the 2020 recruiting class. In fact I would say its 50/50 right now that he jumps early.
