Which matches pretty much everything we've been hearing from Caldwell.

MAJOR commitment from Paolo Banchero who announced he will head to Duke to play for Coach K. Absolute surprise, although, the staff completed a full staff virtual meeting with Paolo and his family.

Ironically, one headline I read said that this is the biggest surprise recruit since Zion Williamson.

I read that he did a virtual meeting with them. It reminds me a bit of Kyle Wiltjer (not the money thing, but just how quickly things changed).

Surprised. I think Duke recruited him less than any of his finalists. But Coach K has that pull. I thought that GU might get him because of the geographic thing (so his family/buddies) could see him play. I knew he wanted to play for a team that was going to make the NCAA's for certain. I never bought the Tennessee deal because in all my years of studying recruiting, packaged deals are B.S. Kids go where they wanna go.

The bottom line is that GU still has great options in Holmgren and Bittle, although it sure seems that some folks feel Bittle is Oregon bound. Who knows what Tommy has going across the Atlantic.

I still feel that a program milestone is to get a top 25 player from "inner city" Seattle. Has not happened yet. If Fewie can get Suggs out of Minneapolis, I have to believe he can land a player from O'Dea. I know Withers wrote a big chapter about how difficult this is in his latest book, but if GU makes another F4............it's gotta occur at some point.
