Although I like having a separate recruiting board, I'm pretty sure splitting it off from the main board has caused both boards to be slower than normal. This time of year that happens anyway, but now we have two boards with very little on them. Going back to last year we would have had one board with twice as much nothing as we have now.

    Bingo.

And as for recruiting, I’d edited my initial response to jazz’s “woe is us ... we’ll never land a Top 10 recruit ... ever” post the other day.

My post responding to jazz ended up being “Time will tell”. But for about 35 minutes (before the edit) it talked about Suggs being 85/15 to 90/10 being a Zag (down from 95/5 the night of his visit with Julian). And I have Kessler as 75/25 to 70/30 being a Zag.

Of course “nothing is in the bag until it is in the bag” holds true .... but that’s what I’m hearing/feeling

Love those odds, GoZags! As for news on this year’s team, it’s been extra aggravating not getting a scrimmage report with the number of talented new players. I will hopefully have more time to get a look myself next summer.

Try to remember, maynard g krebs that this IS NOT the Foo Forum. I did say something about your well known humor, but I wasn't aware of this sick. insane kind of humor that the Foo is so well known for. I almost got sick to my stomach when I read your post; and had flashes of Godfather II. Now that I think of it let's forget about the Harding/Kerrigan strategy. Most people I'm sure don't even know what you were talking about. Let's focus on ways we can get him to fall asleep all day.

I wish I could say I feel sorry for the Mbb board, but after spending years on the Wbb board starting hundreds if not thousand's of threads and getting almost no responses, I will say welcome to my world.

I frequently get hundreds to thousands of views but no posts. Even when posting polls, I get responses from long time posters that they have nothing of value to add??

GZ. Mis-quote alert, I never said “woe is me.” No woe at all, we are doing just fine with what we have been getting. I just think it’s delusional, call it Caldwellian, to think a Top 5-10 kid is gonna choose GU over the US Mint teams. Speaking of Caldy, he has a new list of 2021 targets that some of the other boarders are already pecking at. It was wise to separate the wheat from the chaff.

I'm waiting for the release of the complete schedule, not just the WCC schedule. I plan my entire day around a Zag BB game, and I plan on watching every minute of all 32 of them (or however many we have). Right now I'm focused on MLB; I have the out of market package and there are some good pennant races in the AL Central and NL Central.

Though I do wish I knew more about what the players are doing this summer and how they have been playing together. I wish I knew more about who is going to be running this great offensive team, and how they have looked this summer. I wish I had some idea of who the emotional leader of this team is going to be, and I wish I had more information about what the leaders look like when they scrimmage. I have so many questions that remain unanswered, and most likely will remain so. But this morning I have found some great news that I can 'hang my hat on.' And that news is that Gonzaga has one of the best, if not the best coaches in the country, and Tommy is as good as any assistant coach in the country.

These two guys have proven to me that they know how to mold talent, and create great chemistry and outstanding cohesiveness, into creating a team that is elite. It would be interesting to know what Mark and Tommy think about this team. I wonder what the thoughts are that run through their brains. I'd like to know what they see. I do believe that they have been really, really good recruiters, and every year they seem to get better at that. So I do know that these are the guys that Mark and Tommy believe will lead the Zags into another really good season.

These early polls seem to indicate that these basketball analysts do believe that Gonzaga is going to be a pretty good team. I think I trust these early polls more than some of you do, but it does make sense to me that Gonzaga is going to be really good again. And I say this, not because I know anything special about the players, but I say it because I believe in Mark Few. Does this make any sense to anyone else besides me? hahahaha

If you want to know who will be the emotional leader on this team will be, a pretty decent guess would be A) The guy in his fourth year of significant minutes, B) The guy that is in his third year of being a starter, and C) The guy who is a college graduate who played big big minutes in a big big conference.

Just my opinion as to a great place to start.

Things are a little slow, but not abnormally so. July was the second slowest month for the forum since Feb 2007.

As you can see, things in general really slow down come June and pick up again in October. This list is the number of total posts on the forum by month.

Thanks for all that work you did. I'm not sure how you did it but thanks. I find it to be very very interesting. Maybe it's true that so many of us "OLD FARTS" WHO have been around here for so long may be getting old and slowing down. I fondly remember those days and years that I pumped out posts like no one before me. It was sooooooooo cool back then. For me.....and not for all of you. But I laugh at those days now, and damn it's good to laugh at it all. But there has been a lot of blood, sweat, and tear shed here. And a whole lot of love.

I'm guessing the OCC had something to do with the higher number of posts 5 plus years earlier.

I'd say that's the right guess. I think about 6000 posts of mine were erased during the purge of the OCC.

With companies now wanting to see your social media history as a condition of employment, the reality is closing the OCC was a good thing.

I'm retired now, so it doesn't affect me.
