OH THE HUMANITY!!
OH THE HUMANITY!!
This post is for March Madness seeding purposes only.
I couldn't justify the price for the tickets for the Canada US game, but did attend the 2nd of the two games against New Zealand...
As was noted it was a tight match, without Birch in the middle Canada was light on bigs and Bissett fouling out didn't help either.
What was great to see was how well both Kevin and Kyle played together, and while the team did not play with the same defensive intensity as they did the 3 previous games in Australia they showed great chemistry on the offensive end.
While Phil Scrubb top scored (the best CIS player ever), it was the Kevin and Kyle show in OT (this after a close miss from the 3 on the inbounds play with 1.3 second in regulation.
One last note the game would not have been so close except to Corey Webster's 33 points for NZ, some from seemingly impossible position.
Unlike the game in Perth, I couldn't get down to have a word with Kevin or Kyle, but they did recognize the 50 or so Canadian fans in the arena (swamped by the Kiwi crowd of course).
The addition of BC boy Connor Morgan will help somewhat after the loss of Brissett, but as much as I hate to say it, without Kelly's experience and talent this team will struggle to progress to the next stage out of their group.
Love your posts, Ozzy! Thanks for sharing!

For what it's worth, FIBA rankings are a joke. The way they calculate them makes it very inaccurate, especially outside top10.
Next Zags game tonight at 12:30 AM as Kevin Pangos and Kyle Wiltjer's Canada team take on Australia. I'll be watching on ESPN+. Live stats will be here: http://www.fiba.basketball/basketbal...a#tab=boxscore

Turkey looked very good. Their size will be an issue for Team USA.
Lithuania looked very good. Their size creates problems. Sabonis’ role on national team is how he and Turnercan play for Pacers.
It is their time....their team...I just get to watch. - Bartruff1
Agreed. Lithuania was impressive as heck.

No evac order as yet for Chatham County GA. We will go stay w friends in Sylvania GA if necessary but hoping to remain here at home. Georgia Southern University, where I work, is closed thru Thursday already. We may have only tropical storm conditions if Dorian turns hard north....really still too soon to knowwhere this storm may hit continental US.
Be safe, BogoZags!!
0500 Update: Governor Kemp issued mandatory evacuation for several coastal GA counties late last night. We will abide.
