Default 2021 - Kaden Perry Verbal Commit

Well the class of 2021 is off to a good start. I hinted at this a few weeks back that there was a local prospect that we might land soon. Perry was the guy he Verbally Committed today.

As a Battle Ground HS alum, this is pretty exciting for me! Same school as Richie Frahm... same school district as Dan Dickau and Zach Gourde (Prairie HS). I don’t think we’ve had a SW Washington scholarship kid on the team since Raivio... exciting to see another high level player coming out of Clark County.

Is Perry the best BGHS big man since Mike Brotherton?

(Sorry, obscure reference from my year at Battle Ground back in the early '90s.)

Probably - but I remain partial to the Bohanan brothers - an obscure reference to my time at BG in the mid 90’s

Battle Ground is in the Washington Interscholastic Athletics Association (WIAA) and competes in the Greater St. Helens 4A league

4A is the for the largest schools in Washington. Ravet played in the 2B as I remember. It goes like this.

    Class 4A: 1,300-plus.
    Class 3A: 1,299-900.
    Class 2A: 899-450.
    Class 1A: 449-225.
    Class 2B: 224-105.
    Class 1B: 104-1.

That video shows an aggressive and high effort level you don’t always see in HS kids. Very impressive, this kid is going to blow up nationally IMO. Wait to see him in two years when he’s added more strength and maturity.

he's still pretty raw, but that's typical for athletic bigs at this point...will be interesting to see how much growth before he arrives both physically and skill wise...if he has a couple more inches in him he'll be a monster.
